I'm currently playing in the Sunday Qualifier that i was invited to because of my placement in that earlier tournament. I feel like i'm going to do well (only top 50 out of 1500 get to final tourney though) and might do like i did in the first tourney (32nd) so i'm keeping a running review:
First Hand- Pocket Jacks: With starting cash $1200, i raised the Blinds $60 and got one caller. There was only low cards on the flop so i went $190 more knowing i was best thus far. Turn came Queen and i proceeded to call two consecutive bets of $200 only to lose half of my starting money to AQ. Oh well, down to $630.
Within next 5 hands i win two for about $200 each to get back above $1K.
Big hand- Pocket 6's: check blinds which are at 25-50 at this point and get the 6 on the flop with a money card king also showing. Dude bets $100 i raise him $200 he proceeds to go all you can eat and i pwned him. Now i'm up big.
I then won a split pot with a straight for about $200 profit so i'm above $2200 now
Now i've just been sitting on the above average stack and losing a little here and there on bad flops.
Here we go...i have pocket 5's and just got raised to $175...called and got nada on flop with K and Q out so folded for a loss of $200.
Big One: Q-10 Suited flop= 10 J 9 bet $75 and called by two players...now 8 on turn to hit my str8, bet $300 dudes all in and gets a 5 on the river...two pair for him and a big win for me up to $2503
Currently 751 out of 1500 left, Avg Stack is $1850 and i have $2530 yay...no action in past 10 minutes, 11 till first break...need a big win before then to be in good posistion for top 50 (still 2 hours off if i can get there)
Fianally a playable hand, A-10: call $100 big blind, dudes all in with 185 more, i call along with another guy, get nada on flop dude goes $250 i fold for a loss. Currently $2245...need a hand before break in 5 min
Big Blind with Qd-2h: dude raises $100 and i fold (would have had nothing) i'm itching to play a hand.
Feld 2-9 clubs Small Blind and then 6-7 spades to big bets...still no cards
Now it's the first break after the first hour of play. Currently have $2095 with 612 people left, avg stack $2239, largest $11017...i'm still in here but need some cards!
Now were back...blinds are $75-$150: fold first 3 hands.
Call $150 with A-10 diamonds: 3 players Flop= JKJ All check, Turn= 2 big bet from dude and I fold down to $1945.
This guy just informed the table that only the top 18 from this Sunday Qualifier advance b/c there are 3 Sunday Qualifiers today because of increased interest...that is awful for my chances. 523 left. I'm going to have to go crazy and go all-in often and some time soon. Blinds are worth stealing.
More folds and down to $1645. Another trip around the table with more folds even A-6 suited and K-9 suited...not feeling it.
FINALLY J-K hearts call $200 blinds: 9-10-K Flop i bet 660 and the three players fold for decent win. Currently $2345 with 396 peeps left.
BB and SB are unkind flops: back down to $1745 eww. Break in 42 min...if i can get there i have a chance.
All around folds till BB skips me!!! And i fold 4-2 SB. That skip BB was huge. 281 left, crazy. Consecutive A-4 spades and A-3 spades hands that i feld. I got nothing.
Pocket 4's?? Boo- dude raised blinds up to 800 no go there.
Called 400 with A-8 clubs: 4 players...8 10 5 flop i bet 400 get 1 caller...river comes Q...dudes goes all in...i make a risky call...he shows AK and i have lead into river where he gets J for a fucking str8. I got 243rd out of 1500 and get shit. That was a bad way to lose cause i knew i had him. Whatev...next Sunday.
