Soliloquy is an awesome word.

Last Thursday was my birthday, in which I turned a ripe old age of 23 - an age in which my brain has now (apparently) completely matured and also a time in which (apparently) no one likes you.  Yes, I had to make that pun.  How could I not?

Anyhoo, Friday night was a fun night out on the town - starting with a shot of Stroh at the office.  For those of you not in the know, Stroh is an Austrian rum that is 80% alcohol, and has the nasty habit of making your vital organs leap out of your body upon consumption.  You'll find them quivering in a corner once you get your eyesight back.  To say it's godawful is probably a compliment; but it was amusing to watch those not down with it enough to avoid such a concoction drink a shot.  Then it was off to the Greenwood for some more drinks with the workpeeps.

At this point about 10 bowls of potato wedges, and 4-5 pizzas were also consumed - how that happened, I have no idea.  All I remember is Peter and Steve (my boss) coming out with two shots of Sambuca, and the rest of them cheering me to down them at once - which I promptly did.  Though having it mix with the Stroh already in my stomach, doth a woozy Mish maketh.  Ah well.  On to the CBD courtesy of the company (Yay CabCharge!) and the Bavarian Beer Cafe on York St.  I had never been there before, and it's a really nice place, though the mango beer that Marica had tasted like wet socks and overripe fruit at the same time.  Yech!  And no one, in their right minds, should be able to drink a 1ltr stein of beer.  It just doesn't make sense!

From that point on, it was all a bit hazy, but I do believe a good night was had by all.   Saturday was one HECK of a hangover.  But I did get pancakes at The Rocks in the morning.  Oh yes!

I was meant to go see Groove Armada DJ at a club in the city on Saturday night, but after meeting up with Aaron to grab something to eat, it became all too clear that I was still absolutely wrecked, and I unfortunately had to bail.  There was no way I would've been able to get up and dance when I was already almost falling asleep during dinner.  So I went home and had THE best night's sleep in a long, long time.

Today, after Marica discovered the finer points to Sydney's transport system, we headed north to the Hunter Valley to check out Brokenwood after the renovations that they had completed late last year.  And there is good news - people can now stay there again!  And the Albert Room looks awesome.  The number of people it can fit has been reduced slightly, down to about 16 or so, but still - I shall be planning a weekend away very soon so stay tuned.  We also had a picnic at one of the lookouts neaby, and it was so nice and peaceful and to be honest, looking at the view - it makes you realise just how small and insignificant you are in the greater scheme of things.  But it was beautiful, none the less.

On the return, we did the "scenic" route, through places like... Wyong... and Tuggerah... which weren't all that scenic... until we reached a place called The Entrance.  What it's "The Entrance" to, we weren't able to figure out, but it had a beautiful beach and also ice cream.  I was a 'tard and got Bubblegum and Rainbow but I was good little girl and didn't spill a drop on me.  Hooray!  We finally made it back to Sydney early evening, and we grabbed some Thai in my soon to be 'hood  Randwick before returning to Marica's to feast and watch Foxtel.

All in all a fun weekend.

Though, on a sad note - I did get a call from Steph telling me that Mac had passed away.  The poor thing had beginnings of kidney failure, and then his sugars went wildly out of control, to the point where his kidneys decided to shut down, and his body just couldn't take it anymore.  Stupid universe.  Stop killing my cats!
