Dad decided that he wanted to go into work to get his head around what needed to be done and how etc. His staples are coming out on Thursday.
Bit of a long drive and he only thought he'd be able to handle 4 hours max so I ended up killing the time wandering around
Bluewater. Found an outdoor carpark and then wondered how to get in. As the Winter Wonderland (open from 20th Nov) was being constructed, it looked like access was blocked off but on closer inspection there was a route through. Initially I thought I was just going to focus on getting a coffee for starters but as it was lunchtime everywhere was quite busy and I wasn't that keen on the open plan seating so I ambled around dropping into places as they caught my eye. Not enough places that were not chains really so quite disappointing. Even the new age type shop had all the acoutrements but absolutely no soul.
Opted to try
Leon for something to eat. As I was browsing the menu outside, I was offered a sample of the gobi (cauliflower and sweet potato curry) which was very tasty. The description of the chilli chicken with rice and 'slaw was tempting but the reality was rather disappointing - the chicken pretty bland with the chilli part only being sauce on the side. It was, however, very filling and presumably quite healthy (although it is their vision they haven't yet got nutritional information on their food). I enjoyed the cloudy apple juice with lime and mint which was just as well at £2.40. Food is served in a box which makes it a bit odd to negotiate and the girl I politely asked about a knife and fork, not having being furnished with any eating irons on my tray, moodily told me where to go as if it was obvious - which it isn't.
With one wobble in the wrong direction I found my way back to dad's work and was just considering where to park when I spotted him. There was one odd roundabout on the way back too where you followed your lane and it disappeared on you but we just went to the next bit to get back on the right road. Had a coffee and some French bread before going to BodyCombat.
