Bought stuff today. Lots of stuff. A fridge for one. And a bunch of clothes for the Girlie who is completely out of clothes for Spring and summer. She grew a bunch this winter and when I went through her bureau to pull clothes that were too small there was practically nothing left. I went through my own clothes and tossed a garbage bag and a half out and another garbage bag and a half for donations. I lost enough weight this last year that I really needed some clothes that fit. So, as a reward for that and getting better organized, I bought myself some clothes too. It's nice to finally have some clothes I didn't buy during college. It was also nice because I hit a Kohl's sale on the last day and had an extra discount coupon, so I saved a bunch, which is good because I only think I have money.
Got the dresses I ordered from Good Orient and it looks like
this one is the winner. I've got a couple of weeks to shed a couple more pounds which will make it a perfect fit. It's really a lovely dress. The detail picture doesn't do it justice. And strangely enough, that detail matches the necklace I wore for my wedding perfectly. All I need is a shawl and some shoes. Looks like another shopping trip is in my future. I have to return the other dress because it just wasn't as comfortable to wear and the zipper was busted. I wouldn't have time to exchange it anyway. Luckily in my cleaning out of closets today, I found a back up dress. As much as I enjoy spending, I don't enjoy trudging through crowded stores.
Thanks for the feedback on fic at Kansas. I think it has reached it's limit, myself. It's rather unwieldly. If anyone wants to see what I'm putting together, let me know. I'll point you there and I'd love to get suggestions. It's in a very rough form right now. It has some perks that Kansas does not but it may be at the expense of that community feeling. We'll see.
