I have recently been using my Entertainment Weekly magazines to discover new artists and songs because I have Muve Music on my phone which allows unlimited music downloads. Lexi gave me a bunch of Emilie Autumn MP3s for my birthday and I got all my favorites on my phone, and I've really gotten into Natalia Kills in the last two days, and I just downloaded Angel Haze's second album and I like a lot of it. I mean, my taste in music is more or less techno or stuck in the early 2000s, so I'm expanding, and I'm enjoying a lot of new stuff by opening my up my horizons. ::nods:: I do not feel so old and fuddy-duddyish now.
Also? Lexi is beyond awesome, in that she showed me Steampunk: The Musical (aka a musical version of War of the Worlds with a holographic Liam Neeson) and Pitch Perfect when I visited her on Friday (I now have all the songs on the Pitch perfect soundtrack on my phone and my computer). And she also found me Frankenstein on YouTube, so I can watch the play with my favorite Sherlocks in it. And I also have season 3 of Sherlock. I'm going to watch it soon. I'm just still dragging my feet to watch the first half of "The Reichenbach Fall" because while I appreciate a good psychopath I'm really tired of their Moriarty (a lot of it has to do with game, too).
ETA: There was also the Doctor Who Christmas special, which I forgot about, but I haven't recovered from the heartbreaking awesomeness of it. When I recover then I will talk about it.
On the down side I've been struggling with writer's block. The amusement park AU I can understand because there's still drama going down with the newest buyout at work (I'll go into it on a locked post) and I don't want to think about it. But I have a wonderful artist for the BB so I'm going to make sure I finish it as soon as I can. But all the rest of my stuff, like the brand new WIP that everyone loves and all my series? Nope, don't wanna touch them. Want to re-read what I've written, but I don't want to add anything new to them. ::sigh:: I just got over writer's block earlier in the month. I'm pissed it's back. But I did plot out what's happening in the amusement park AU and the Sherlock inn AU. Now it's just a matter of writing it. Muse, come back? Pretty please? However, I had two stories hit 2K in hits on AO3 this week, which gives me encouragement. I'm very proud that they are that well read. One of them literally got that many hits in less than a month, and I still can't figure out what makes that fic so well loved and so popular. Can someone tell me so I can do it again?
I'll have a personal post in a bit, but yeah. That's my fandom life right now, more or less. It really does suck not having cable at home. I MISS YOU SHERLOCK AND JOAN!!!
