they say she's crazy / there's something dark and sinister

I need to watch season 3 of Sherlock. Because not being able to go on Tumblr is torture. Seriously. But yay for the 24th when I'll get to watch the Doctor Who Christmas special and some of Sleepy Hollow (because Lexi is bound and determined to get me into that show and I'm going to let her...also, John Cho).

Now that the brief fandom bit is out of the way, the good news: I has a phone again! It's a rather nice phone. Another no name brand but not ZTE. It cost me about $202 total, but that got me the screen protector, case and headphones I can use to make hands free calls as well as the phone and my first month's bill. I did have to get a new number and I'll have to reapply for Lifeline all over again, but now I have 2.5GB of data included with my plan. ::grins:: I'm a happy woman now.

As for the other goodies I bought myself, someone was offering the extended edition of "Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" on Amazon for $9.99 so you had best believe I snapped that up. Now I just need to other two movies and the extended edition of the first Hobbit movie and I will be happy. I also bought "Fortysomething" (and hopefully this version will work and will get sent to me...the seller of the other copy I tried to buy checked before he sent it and it didn't work so I got a refund) because I heard good things about it and I want to see Hugh Laurie in something other than House M.D. And while not a goodie for myself I bought my son a turquoise fedora, because he liked it and it was $5.50. And then I bought pain pills for my fricking shoulder which I needed desperately because OMG, pinched nerves hurt.

So yes. I have about $58 left, $8 of which goes to my mother to get flea medication for the cat and $10 goes to getting more money on my laundry card so I don't have to go another month without washing my uniform (four days a week at work meant it was standing up on its own by the time I got to wash it last week) and then the rest for food. I think $40 should be enough to get us through to the 30th. Or at least I hope it is. I see a lot of ramen in my future for dinner... But yeah. I got the last of my birthday presents to me, got my phone, and so I am pleased that I spent my money well (or at least well for me). Now it's just a matter of getting over to the grocery store to buy stuff for dinner tonight and leftovers tomorrow and hopefully Saturday.
