this isn't a game / your life i'll swallow
An interesting article on the Marvel movie franchise that makes me really excited for Phase II and Phase III. I will admit, other than the Dark Knight trilogy and the direct to DVD animated specials, I've been underwhelmed by DC's movies ever since I was a kid, and lately by DC as a whole. I'm not as excited for "Batman vs Superman" as I would have been if I was still reading the comics or searching out all the animated features. I don't read Marvel comics, and all the knowledge I have of Marvel characters comes from these movies, but I'm fascinated by this universe. Yeah, I'm behind on some of the movies (I still haven't seen the last two Iron Man movies, and I probably will have to wait for the Thor sequel to come out on DVD before I get to see it) but I love what they've done so much. Hopefully other franchises will learn from their example.
Today I get to go see "12 Years A Slave." My mom and I got very lucky in that $55 we thought we would have to put towards a back electricity charge was something we were allowed to keep, so my mom is letting me spend $9.25 to go see the movie before it leaves theaters. I'm actually quite excited for it because there are many other actors in it that I love, and the history of the South has fascinated me ever since I got to talk to one of my classmates in South Carolina who was a Civil War re-enactor. It's quite fascinating. In fact, last night I watched the movie "The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman" and it was such an enlightening movie. So I'm very interested in the chance to get to go see it tonight.
In a few minutes I'll have another locked post on my sherlockmas and holmestice entries, but the end is almost in sight for those (yay!) and I'm glad. Then I can, you know, finish the "The Snowmen" rewrite for journeystory which would please me greatly (and probably my artist as well). So I only have about 45 minutes of interent time left, so let me hurry and post the other post and then go on Facebook for a bit. Cheers!
