Muve Music from Cricket just got some awesome new music, and some music it didn't have before. I downloaded Lindsey Stirling's self-titled album, Korn's new album "The Paradigm Shift" and they actually got the 20th anniversary release of Nirvana's "In Utero," so my ears have been very happy lately. Sadly, this has not helped me with my writer's block. Though I kind of want to write some Moriarty fic to the song I'm listening to, but then I already wrote something similar to what I want to write.
Anyway. Meme! I am bored and want to kill time, so here you go, learning more about me and my fandomy interests. I pulled it from Tumblr and since I'm really not active in LJ fandomy stuff I just left it as is.
A - Your current OTP Toss-up between Sherlock/Amy and Sherlock/Molly. Those seem to be the two ships I write the most.
B - A pairing you initially didn’t consider but someone changed your mind Sherlock/Molly, actually. I used to be really against that ship until someone told me about their post-"Reichenbach" headcanon and it worked for me. Pretty much all the Sherlock/Molly I write is post-"Reichenbach" or it's in an AU where those episodes never happened (aka "A Little Holmes").
C - A pairing you have never liked and probably never will Sherlock/Mycroft, Sam/Dean, and any other incest ships out there. The only one I might possibly like (if I ever get into Game of Thrones like my mother wants) is that incest ship because it's canon and I kind of have to see it. It just depends.
D - A pairing you wish you liked but just can’t You know, I can't think of any off the bat right now. Probably because I'm a fairly open-minded shipper. I'll write anything at least once. I mean, I'm not a Sherlock/John shipper and yet I have a series with that ship. So yeah.
E - Have you added anything stupid/cracky/hilarious to your fandom, if so, what Way back in the Buffyverse fandom. I also have a really stupid CSI: Miami cracky fic, but I prefer to pretend I never wrote it even though it's on my AO3 account.
F - What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom If we count multiple shows, I was in the CSI franchise fandom for about eight years, maybe a little longer. Individual show would probably be Eureka, which I got into right before season 3 and while I'm not particularly active in it anymore I'm actually doing a rewatch of the seasons I don't have on DVD. I just got 4.5 yesterday from my library and I'm waiting for the one I orderd to show up in the mail relatively soon.
G - Do you remember your first OTP, if so who was in it Buffy/Spike was my first OTP. I actually shipped it until they became canon in the show and then I absolutely despised it.
H - Do you prefer characters from real action series or anime series Real action. There's only one anime series I ever wrote fic for, and technically I wrote based on the manga and not the anime (that would be Bleach, by the way).
I - Has tumblr caused you to stop liking any fandoms, if so, which and why No, it really hasn't.
J - Name a fandom you didn’t care/think about until you saw it all over tumblr The Vampire Diaries was a big one. Also, Tumblr got me back into Supernatural, as much as I was able to last season.
K - How do you feel about the other people in your current fandom Well, I've met some of the nicest people in the Sherlock fandom, but there is a vocal minority of Sherlock/John shippers who give me a headache.
L - Your favorite fanartist/author gives you one request, what do you ask for I...uh...I kind of don't read other people's stuff. I'd like some nice Sherlock/Amy fanart, though, because there's not enough of it out there.
M - Your favorite fanart or fanartist
Alice X. Zhang Any time I see her stuff I grin madly because it's freaking gorgeous.
N - Your favorite fanfiction or fanauthor I don't read other people's stuff very often. Probably
laerkstrein or
ami_ven here on LJ, even if I am horrible about commenting on their stories. And
aaronlisa when she writes Supernatural fic (which doesn't happen enough, girlie girl).
O - Choose a song at random, which OTP does it remind you of Lorde's "
400 Lux" came up and that really does strike me as a Sherlock/Amy song, with the lines "We're never done with killing time / Can I kill it with you? / 'Til my veins run red and blue." Also, the bit about being hollow and brave. If you pluck them from early in their show's runs, that describes them well.
P - Invent a random AU for any fandom Elementary - Moriarty never comes to see Sherlock in the hospital room and instead goes to safety, leaving him to wonder about how well he really had her figured out. Sherlock doesn't forget about her, not right away, but as years pass he is able to heal and move on now that he knows the truth. And then five years later she reappears, this time asking him to protect her. There is someone more powerful and more dangerous in the world than her, and this new player wants to take over her business. When those she holds closest are systematically taken out and Sherlock is the next target, she does everything she can to save his life and take care of her big problem at the same time. And Sherlock realizes that while he may have healed, and he may have moved on, she will always have a place in his life whether he likes it or not.
Q - A ship you’ve abandoned and why Pretty much any ship I used to write a lot of in fandoms I'm no longer involved in. A few I still love, like my predominant Bleach and CSI: NY ships, but I will probably never write them again. Though that might change with Bleach if I do a manga re-read, which is tempting.
R - A pairing you ship that you don’t think anyone else ships I have boatloads. Mostly crossover ones. Rory/Molly, Jack/Irene, Lestrade/Joan...there's tons more where they come from.
S - Show us an example of your personal headcanon Sherlock - Mycroft and Sherlock's father left them when they were young, and when Mycroft began to act as head of household that is when his relationship with his brother changed. They used to be amicable, if not exactly nice to each other, but soon young Sherlock's quirks and eccentricities drove a wedge between them.
T - If you mostly have homoships, do you have any heteroships Not applicable.
U - If you mostly have heteroships, do you have any homoships I do! I ship Kelly/Annabelle for St. Trinian's, Mycroft/Lestrade and Irene/Molly for Sherlock, and I ship Moriarty/Joan for Elementary. I haven't written the last two, but Kelly/Annabelle is the main ship in my "Where The Wild Ones Are" series and one of my favorite Sherlock fics I've written is Mycroft/Lestrade ("
In The Aftermath"), and it's been fairly well received, much to my surprise.
V - Are you one of those fans who can’t watch anything without shipping Pretty much. I find ships everywhere.
W - 5 favorite characters from 5 different fandoms Joan Watson (Elementary), Rory Williams (Doctor Who), Bela Talbot (Supernatural), Elijah Mikaelson (The Vampire Diaries, only because I haven't seen him on The Originals yet) and Kelly Jones (St. Trinian's).
X - 3 OTPs from 3 different fandoms Lestrade/Molly (Sherlock), Neal/Emma (Once Upon A Time) and Zane/Jo (Eureka)
Y - A fandom you’re in but have no ships from Endeavour is the only one I can think of off the top of my head.
Z - Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go I have writer's block. I have a Sherlock fic I have to finish by the 2nd of November, or at least have 80% of it done, and I can't think of where I want it to go. It's trying to become casefic but it really isn't. And then I'm a chapter into my "The Hounds of Baskerville" rewrite for the same series, and I just want to pull my hair out because nothing is coming out! I kind of want to step away from Sherlock/Wholock and see if I can get my head back in the game. Maybe write some Eureka fic. Who knows?
