So, CSI: NY is officially canceled, and from what I understand Body Of Proof will finish this season and then not be coming back. These announcements make me sad, though not as sad about CSI: NY because we got a lovely series finale. But there is no way Body Of Proof can wrap up all their storylines neatly in just a few episodes will we're all

I also hadn't watched Warehouse 13 since season two - I recently mainlined seasons one through three, plus the available episodes from season four. I hadn't heard about the cancellation until you posted this. Colour me completely unsurprised though, given it is SyFy we're dealing with. Just another show on their network that didn't get past a fifth season with them. (Whilst Stargate SG-1 closed with a tenth season, that was its fifth season for SyFy - the first five seasons were for Showtime.) And I'm not holding my breath that W13 will actually get those six episodes. They said the same with Eureka and it never happened.
Given the rate at which shows get cancelled these days, I've stopped watching pilot episodes and wait for a show to become more established. I was actually enjoying Terra Nova but then found out that the plug had been pulled before the last episode even aired - and it was left with a fucking huge cliffhanger. TV has gotten to a place for me where I associate it with WIP fiction - best to be avoided until you know it has been completed.

They haven't made big news of the cancellation, which actually irritates me. I'm sad to see the show go, and I think they should have gotten a whole season. I'm happy for the six episodes, but at the same time SyFy's tendency to cancel shows before they hit a fifth season makes me disinclined to watch new stuff from them. Defiance looks great, but I don't want to get into it and then have it cancelled too soon.
It's getting that way for me to. Other than Elementary, all the shows I watched this year were at least on their second seasons (Castle is on it's fifth I believe, The Vampire Diaries is on it's fourth, Supernatural is on it's eighth, Grimm and OUAT arev on their second and CSI: NY was on it's ninth). I only watched them because I knew there was a trememndously good chance all of them were getting renewed, CSI: NY excepted. If Arrow had been on at a different time I probably would have gotten into that one as well because it was good in the first ep and it's kind of the CW's breakout hit this season. Maybe if they change the day and time I'll watch it next season.
