I got my Mother's Day presents from my son yesterday, as well as a sort of gift from my mother. My son gave me two Doctor Who comics and a plush rose. One of the Doctor Who comics is actually issue five of the Doctor Who/Star Trek: The Next Generation crossover, so I squealed when I saw that. Before I read that I need to go buy issues 1 - 4 (and slipcases, because I don't have any since all my Final Crisis: Revelations and Helmet of Fate comics took all the slipcovers I had). The other comic is issue 1 of the IDW run with Eleven, Amy and Rory, so I was pleased by that. I swear, I do hate the fact my son has seen more Clara episodes than I have, but he's turning into a good little Whovian. I'm proud. Plus this just proves he knows me well...for my birthday in January he got me two Lord of the Rings movies after I gave him The Hobbit for his tenth birthday. Which reminds me, I need to ask if he ignored reading the copies of the trilogy that I got him or if he actually read all three LOTR books yet. I know the last book he read that I bought him was So You Want To Be A Wizard by Diane Duane because I love the Young Wizards series so much and wanted to share it with him.

And my mother, instead of buying them for herself, loaned me the money to buy twenty Xanth novels by Piers Anthony used from the bookstore at the library we have our visits at. I know I've gushed about how much I love Neil Gaiman and David & Leigh Eddings, but I seriously love the Xanth series. If it wasn't for my step-grandmother Mimi getting me into the Callahan's Crosstime Saloon series by Spider Robinson I never would have given these pun-filled treasures a second look, and I would be missing something in my life. My mother was about thisclose to buying them for herself, and then she decided her landlord would kill her if she brought home twenty books so I got them, but she gets borrowing rights. I just had this huge grin on my face as I walked out of the store carrying all those books.

Let's see. I decided that, as much as I would love to work on the scifibigbang fic today, I need to re-watch "The Power Of Three" first and I don't feel like doing that today. So that story is getting held off until Tuesday of next week. Today I'm going to write at least one more chapter of my pre-series "Rory lives with Sherlock" story for lotl101, possibly write the second Sherlock/St. Trinian's story for aaronlisa today and work on a few other stories for the "All Of Time And Space" series. I also want to get cracking on either my second entry for crossbigbang or a possible second entry (this time for the mini-bang) at scifibigbang. I really want to write that "Sherlock and Amy take over the world" for one of those two stories. It just depends on the length, whether it hits 10K or 15K before I finish. We'll see.

I'm probably going to skip The Vampire Diaries tonight and watch it online next week when I'm watching "The Power Of Three" and skip Person Of Interest as well because as much as I love Amy Acker (and cannot wait to see her as Beatrice in Joss Whedon's remake of "Much Ado About Nothing") I really can't stand her character on that show, which is why I ignored most of last week's episode. I will definitely be home in time for Elementary, however. Nothing in the world can keep me from missing that show tonight. I swear, that show is the highlight of my week, even when it's a repeat (though it helps I missed about ten episodes this season, so a lot of the time the repeat is an episode I haven't seen yet). So yeah. Those are my plans for the evening. ::nods:: Guess I should get back to writing, no?
