So. Has anyone else ever had a ship they don't ship become so interesting you write fic for it anyway? And people like the fic? So you start writing more of it? Because that's exactly what happened with Sherlock/John. I wrote the fic I recced yesterday ("Taking Care Of John") and when I work up this morning it had about 500 hits and 17 kudos on AO3 (right now it has 641 hits and 22 kudos, and the increase has only happened in the last eight hours). And so I wrote two more fics and essentially started a series of fluffy Sherlock/John fics called "Domestic Bliss." But I still do not ship Sherlock/John. I ship Sherlock/Molly, Sherlock/Irene, Sherlock/Amy, Sherlock/Prentiss, John/Molly, John/Sarah and John/Amy but I just find myself drawn to writing Sherlock/John right now. I'm just curious if something like this has ever happened to anyone else.
And on an AO3 fic watch note, "Happy Birthday To You" hit 1K in hits yesterday morning, and "New Beginnings" is about 55 hits away from the 1K mark, plus I have a few other fics hovering around the high 800s as well, so we'll see if they break 900 in the near future.
