This is posted from my phone, so my apologies for any typos...
Friday night we headed over to Cafe' Racer for dinner, and found out that they were having an art show of local cartoonists, where every piece was $20 or under. I picked up 3 pieces, and am now trying to figure out how to hang a paper bag for a liquor bottle, or a tiny 2" x 3" drawing of a voodoo lady...
Saturday morning we got up early and headed to Vashon Island, where
lampyridae went to summer camp for 10 years. Camp Sealth was holding an open house, and we had a chance to wander all over the camp. Natalie acted as tour guide, and showed me all the secret paths and hidden cabins on the site. Half the camp is built up the side of a ravine/cliff, so by the time we were done we were exhausted. It was still an amazingly good time.
After lunch and a quick ferry ride back, we went to the last Seattle Mage game before the reset, where I got to act competent but evil as Mr. Neimand. It's sometimes hard to keep playing the villain when other characters are yelling at you or condemning you, since the emotions can feel very real. On the other hand, the game needs a few reprehensible characters, doesn't it? Or does it? Let me know if you feel strongly either way.
After Mage we were both exhausted from the day and lack of sleep, and so in a shocking display of oldness, we went home, I grilled myself a wonderful burger, and we futzed around for a few hours before going to bed before midnight on a Saturday night.
Sunday was pretty lazy, with a quick trip to Costco to gather supplies, and a few hours of City of Heroes. The weekend wasn't as packed as our normal pace, but it was nice to have a little downtime before next Saturday, which is shaping up to be a marathon of fun. :-)
