Well this is a far less used area than most nowadays... so using this. Rather not on FB where it is bound to be misunderstood because of too many people posting too many similar thing that they might think I am posting about them...
and I rather not go there!
I am worn
There are so many things that sadden me in this world and it seems that they are all coming out at once, to the point I feel more accosted with eveything that is horrible whenever I go to read social media. Sure, with reading the news I come to expect it, but at least there it is well thought out and presented. Social media... it's in the form of a picture, cartoon or simple point list, in fact it's all made so very simple that it's really impossible to trust, and I don't.... mostly (I do let my guard down now and then and find out I shouldn't have).
Opinion... that I trust, I trust it as opinion. Opinion is at least the truth about something, that being, someone's ideas or feelings, of course that has to be direct. Ever had someone tell you how you felt or what you meant? Yeah, that doesn't work, also doesn't work when they tell someone what someone else's meaning or feelings are... not that it would always be untrue, but it's all really luck isn't it?
But that isn't what has been really bothering me, it's the messages that I have been hearing... actually, I can summarize it up to a whole theme.
-Violence as an answer
-Hate and mistrust
Violence just plain bothers me, I have little use for it and I do not want to leave this world ever thinking that I have left victims of violence behind. I am typically not an angry person, while I may defend myself, I also am unlikely to be that person who lets go of the other dude dangling off the side of a cliff. I also have issue with reckless violence, as a non angry person, I am unlikely to swing a mace around a room filled with innocent people while trying to defend them or myself.
Yet... I like to be aware of people are like, so I read comments. Comments to news stories, to blogs and so on... and many times these are places where people are nice, or supportive or trying to bring awareness, but people go to these places with nothing more than to promote violence or violent behaviour... or in the least, defend it. I have suspicions why, but I really can not say I am blessed with a complete understanding here.
and then we have hate and mistrust... violence's little sibling... cheering it on...
It hurts me to my very core to read these things, it hurts me even more when my friends propagate it. I hope above all hopes that my friends just do this unwittingly but it still bothers me because every time something bad is said about another person just because of the colour of their skin, the religious background they carry, the god (gods, or godesses) they worship, the language they speak, the culture they have, the way they choose to dress, their sexuality or lack of it, who they choose to marry or not marry, who they choose to have sex with or not.... or even how they frikken walk... IT IS ALL THE SAME. You can not cry that you are being discriminated against if you do anything like what I just mentioned. You can not.
If you cry that "they" are trying to take away your rights, do you know what you just did? I have seen and heard... yes, people actually dare to speak these things and not just write them, people say that Muslims are trying to change "our" way of life. I have heard this time and time again in many varying ways with many different words, but it often comes back to that. So I ask, What makes you believe that Muslims are trying to change your way of life? Is there a way you, or anyone, can explain to me how you would know that all of the Muslims in the entire world are trying to change your way of life? What gives you that authority? Where does this grand knowledge come from?
Go, go to Google images and type in: racist propaganda or search for specific ones. You will find propaganda against all russians (they will come here and rape our women), socialist to make us poor, Japanese no longer welcome posters, Anti Chinese saying "We no longer want you here", Very derogatory images of black people and jews... need I continue?
Yes, yes there are bad people in this world, but just because in a crowd of 50, where 7 striped men and women throw rocks at everyone who comes near, does it mean that the other 15 striped people are going to be a threat to the remaining 28 people, it's madness to think they would.
just so much, just so much
