And now... there is a band, a certain band, who travels near and far through out this very land. Who is this band? This certain band, who brings their Wizard Rock to people 'cross the land? The group is called Harry and the Potters, and they're made up of two brothers, Paul (26) and Joe (18) DeGeorge. The brothers started the group in 2002, and the concept behind it is that one of them is Harry Potter at Year 4 and one is Harry Potter at Year 7. They decided that if Harry Potter were a musician, he would play punk rock, so they dress as Harry Potter from the waist up (cardigan, tie, glasses) and punk rockers from the waist down (jeans, studded belts).
The group takes a very D.I.Y. attitude and releases all their own records, which feature songs based on the Harry Potter books, with titles like "Cornelius Fudge Is An Ass," "Wizard Chess," and "SPEW." Harry and the Potters merchandise (toothbrushes, t-shirts, buttons, and more) is also available. Their second album Voldemort Can't Stop The Rock was recorded last year and released earlier this year. Harry and the Potters tour pretty relentlessly, often playing multiple shows on their tour stops in book stores and libraries, and their energy when performing is incredible bordering on ridiculous. Their minivan will be getting some more miles on it, as the group has several upcoming dates in the southern United States before they travel to Holland for a series of shows there.
