Peanuts are not the worst thing out there with about 100 calories and 7 grams of fat for 33 kernels, it makes a great snack food with a nice amount of protein. However, being the southern-country boy that I am, one serving is not enough. When I open up a can I generally eat the entire thing, which pretty much has encouraged me to gain 5 pounds. At this point 5 pounds is nothing seeing I lost too much weight to begin with (65, now 60 pounds) and need to pack some back on-- hopefully as muscle.
Ever since I realized that you can buy boiled peanuts
online I have been taking advantage of that. I ordered a case (24) of the cans and am about half-way through them-- le sigh. I have to say they are damn good, but nothing replaces fresh boiled peanuts in the crockpot at a convenient store on the side of a dusty road in the south-- nothing.
