[Karrin sounds shaky and maybe a tad disoriented. As the post continues however she starts to get some control over her voice and panic.Oh God
( Read more... )
[a relieved chirp is followed by a series of soothing whistles as Kitten's scales fade slowly from pinkish orange back to pale blue. She hadn't wanted to be alone here either.]
[she takes a deep breath] We're probably the only people who know what's going on right now to some extent. I have a feeling we weren't just brought to real Chicago for some tourist attraction. The state of the city is about as bad as what we were dealing with in the fake Chicago.
The layout should be mostly the same. Where are you?
Worse even - at least they're trying to evacuate the city. But other than the storm, I don't see...
[Screams rise in the background. Some shouts of "it's headed this way!", "run!", and "oh my god" can be heard from Alice's end. Alice curses as the shouts continue before everything is muffled for a moment or two. When she speaks again, its somewhat quieter and there's the sound of some classical Italian music playing in the background]
They ran from something - I couldn't see what. And I don't really know where... [The sounds are muffled again as Alice puts her hand over the mouthpiece of the phone, asking someone about her current location] I'm in Wrigleyville. Angelina Ristorante. This was... [lowers her voice] ...this part of Chicago wasn't accessible in the other one.

Be on your guard then.
Yeah, just further proof that we ARE back in the real Chicago I imagine. Although...I have a bad feeling that means this might not be contained to just Chicago then.
[She thinks about that for a moment, wondering if other supernatural charged events are happening elsewhere in the world. She let's out a low whistle though] That's a pretty fair distance from Millennium Park. Try and head for the Bean anyway, it's as good a place as any to meet. Just head south.
We need to meet up because we're the only ones who might have a clue what's going on and a fighting chance of stopping it. Contrary to what fake Chicago might have shown you the majority of people in this town are vanilla mortals who won't stand a chance against any major supernatural attack.
Bean's our best bet and what others will probably assume to head towards. If you need directions let me know, this is my town after all.
[the sudden presence of all that real, vibrant life after months of being surrounded by nothing but shadow and the occasional person is enough to throw Thomas for a loop, and he sounds obviously distracted as he answers]
No, looks like we all made it back in one or two pieces.
[there's a long moment of silence from Thomas' end, filled with just the quiet echoes of screams in the distance. His face is expressionless in the video feed, but his eyes are alive, focused on something offscreen.]
[eventually he remembers that he's supposed to answer.] Find a handbasket. Or at least a couple of cars and a place with walls.

It looks like the real Chicago - I don't see the fog anywhere. And all of the buildings are still standing so that's something...

I'm here.
... Should we try to get everyone to meet up? Or would that be asking for more trouble?

I can find my way there, but with the fog gone, there's something I want to check first. Shouldn't take me long.
