waiting for those lazy summer days...

May 28, 2005 23:20

soooooooooooooooo it's that time of the year again.

the time when it's totally summer.
you can feel it, taste it, breathe it, see it, hear it, smell it...

and yet... we are supposed to study for finals?!??!?! how does that work?

so yes, i have studied for geometry, and that's it. when i totally need to study twice as hard as i have been... yet i know i won't.

i have every sort of procrastination trick up my sleeve and i know i will use all of them. sigh...

so tomorrow will be cram day... no wait... monday will be, i won't do anything tomorrow either... except shut off my computer... that'd be a good idea... yeah.

so what has everyone else been up to???

The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note, and posted on the apple tray:

"Take only ONE. God is watching."

Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies.

A child had written a note, "Take all you want. God is watching the apples."

Everybody loves a hero.

People line up for them, cheer them, scream their names. And years later, they'll tell how they stood in the rain for hours just to get a glimpse of the one who taught them how to hold on a second longer.

I believe there's a hero in all of us, that keeps us honest, gives us strength, makes us noble, and finally allows us to die with pride, even though sometimes we have to be steady, and give up the thing we want the most.

Even our dreams.

A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales.
The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small.
The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale.

Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible.

The little girl said, "When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah".

The teacher asked, " What if Jonah went to hell?"

The little girl replied, "Then you ask him".

sorry, i was in a big quote mood... extremely bored... hope you enjoyed <3
