Since I got here.........

I've done so much since I got here, its great!  I'm making the most of everyday seeing as I only have two and a half weeks here.  I'll go through day by day.

Saturday 4th:  Arrived at midnight Toronto time.  Went to bed and slept.

Sunday 5th:  Woke up, got up, then went back to bed.  About 12 I got up and got ready to go to church with mum and dad.  They only go to a small church, so they we're all REALLY excited to meet me.  Following church we went out for dinner, to which I struggled to stay awake through.  Went to bed and slept.

Monday 6th: Was a public holiday here, so I thought I'd go and see if the girls I used to work with were on at Addition-Elle.  Only two girls I used to work with were there but it was so exciting to see them!  I really miss working there, plus I miss the clothes!  I almost went mental with all the nice clothes there.  I literally could have spent all my money there without ANY problems.  I ended up getting a really nice casual skirt, blue singlet top, a work skirt and top.  We did a bit more shopping around, but it was a fairly easy day.

Tuesday 7th: We went to Casa Loma.  Its a beautiful old castle in Toronto built in the early 1900s.  I'm trying to get some photos up on my msn space, but having issues.  Once I do I'll let you know!  But I was really amazed to find out quite a few movies have been filmed there; Cicago, X Men, The Pacifier (sp?) and there were a few others, but they were the main ones that I remember!  I was just blown away by how beautiful it was.  I'd love to go to England and go see some REALLY old castles.  So beautiful!

Wednesday 8th: Went back to Addition-Elle to see the other girls I used to work with.  When I started walking in, Rita, the little Italian lady I used to adore, ran up to me so excited and gave me a huge hug.  Gosh I miss her!  She is just so lovely, and so caring, and I always had heaps of fun with her.  I then went over to my old boss who had her back to me, and tapped her on the shoulder, she almost screamed when she saw me!  It was so funny!  She was hoping I was going to be there for the summer so she could have hired me, but alas, I'm not.  I don't think I did anything overly exciting in the afternoon.

Thursday 9th: Got to see Mary Frances (I hope I've spelt that right!) which was great!  We went and did some shopping with her mum, and had a nice lunch.  In the late afternoon we went to see Hairspray, so good!  It was really great to catch up with her, because I've always felt like just as I was getting close to some people I left, so its nice to come back and catch up with her.

Friday 10th: Mum and dad took me to Wasga "Beach".  Its on a lake, and you can walk out about 250m and you're still up to your knees.  The water was beautiful and warm, and there was a slight swell, so it was nice just to be able to be in water and not be getting dumped.  When I was out in the water I heard this little boy say to his dad "DAD!  Its a big one!"  when a swell was coming!  Hahahahahaha oh it made me laugh.  I suppose it must be big compared to the 20cm swell :P  Anyhow, mum went and had a sleep in a car, and I was cold in the shade, so I went out into the sun and stupidly fell asleep, without sunscreen.  I was only in the sun for 3/4 hour, but I came away very much a tomato.  I got terribly sunburnt on my face, neck, chest and shoulders, and on my legs but not quite as bad.  However, I have really amusing lines because the sun was on my left hand side, so everything on my left is really red, and my right not so much.  My face blistered, then they went seriously yucky and hard, and FINALLY started peeling yesterday, and today its all gone.  My chest is only starting to peel now, but not really bad.

Saturday 11th: Dad and I went to the Ontario Science Museum to see a Titanic Exhibition.  Oh my god, it was SO amazing.  There were artifacts that had been brought up from the bottom and it was just totally mouth dropping.  It wasn't as sad as I thought it was, but it was still just fascinating.  Later that evening I went to the Taste of the Danforth which is a Greek festival in the greek area of Toronto.  I went with Stef who I used to work with, but I don't think we're as close as we used to be, but thats ok, I kind of expected that.

Sunday 12th: Slept in, and went to church.  Nothing overly exciting.

Monday 13th: Slept in again.  Mary Frances and I went to the Royal Ontario Museum, and I got in free because she is a member.  It was HUGE!  Ancient Egyption, Greek and Peru artifacts just blew my mind.  I studied Ancient Greece so it really was fascinating.  In the Egyption section, they had a real Mummy open, soooo cool!  Lots and lots of other things too, you really need to spend a day in each section, there is just so much to see.

Tuesday 14th: Went down to Niagara Falls.  It STILL blows my mind.  It honestly is just so big, and so amazing, and I could stand there for hours watching them.  Dad and I went on the Whirlpool Jetboat, which went through Category 5 Rapids (rapids scale 1-6).  In the actual Whirlpool, which is where all the water from the falls comes through and tries to funnel through this narrow opening, they have Category 6 Rapids, but you aren't legally allowed to go in them.  The water in the Whirlpool is 75m deep, it makes me sick just thinking about it!

And then we're up to today.  We left about 2pm and drove to Kingston, which is half way between Toronto and Montreal.  We're on our way to Montreal which is going to be fantastic.  We're staying two nights with some of dads extended family who live about 2 hours out of Montreal, and then two nights in Montreal.  So excited!

Thats about it for now.  I'm really enjoying myself, and I just don't want to go back to Sydney and to work.  I'd be happy to keep travelling all around Canada!  But I guess I've got to earn some money..

Anyhow, I probably won't do another update till I get home!  Don't miss me too much ;)
