Up, Up, Up, Can only go up from here....

So it's not really as bad as I make it sound, but the past two weeks (has it only been that long???) have not been my best. There's been ups and downs and crazy rollercoaster-like days, but the routine is slowly setting in.

So where did I last leave off? Oh yes...

The job....I'm done with it (thank God), but like a crazy person I told them I'd come back at Christmas time if they needed me. Whoever said money doesn't buy happiness was never a college student.

I officially left for Kzoo about two weeks ago, which I was slightly excited about. That's when the craziness began. First off I lost my cell like 50 times that day so I was not in the best of moods in the first place. However, singing in the car does always lighten my mood:-p So I get up to the apt and as I am unpacking I realize......I forgot my clarinet. Here I am, up at school a week early for BAND CAMP, and I have no clarinet. Go me... So I began to freak out and after I was done with that I decided I would just have to drive back across the state and retrieve it. Luckily my mom was nice enough to meet me about an hour from home so it was a slightly shorter drive (only 3 hours round trip.....oy)

Things went a lot better for most of the week. All of you band people know how it is. Band camp is always a little frustrating and a lot of fun. The clarinets were AWSOME this year. We placed 2nd overall in Section Olympics, which, for those of you who didn't know, is quite a feat for us. The past few years we have been like 10th place, considering we are the most "athletic" of sections. lol. We also got 2nd place on skit night with our wonderful rendition of 100 Years by Five for Fighting. If you didn't hear it, you missed out. So this marching season has been hereto known as "The Year of the Clarinet." The only real sad part of band camp was the lovely skin poisoning I ended up with. Yes, lucky me, I am now slightly lobster colored and let me tell you it isn't the most pleasant of illnesses. I won't bore you with details.

The first week of classes has come and is almost gone. I've been to every one of my classes at least once, and I'm hoping they won't be too impossible. Here's my schedule for those who are interested:

FIN 320: 10-10:50
BUS 370: 2-3:15
BMB: 4-6

We’re at band camp for a week
We’re marching, playing, and sweating
And we’re all tired
Counting the days til we drink

We’re basics block for a moment
Surrounded by lots of people
And they’re all sweaty
Should have applied deodorant

We’re piccolos for a moment
Making all of your ears bleed
And tubas scare us
Cuz they’re so big and sweaty

Game Day working hard for you
Broncos even though you lose
Football there’s never a game that we win
When we only go to Western Michigan

We’re saxophones for a moment
Ben Strack is loud & obnoxious
And mellos can’t march
They should be left in the stands

We are trombones for a moment
We like to drink and drink and drink and drink
And drink
And drink and drink and drink

We are drum majors for a moment
We dress the same like families at Disneyland
And Monty
Don’t forget that you’re short

Guard there’s no room for you
Wide banners leave my knees bruised
Trumpets I can see your thighs
Your shorts are too short for guys

We’re clarinets for a moment
We still can’t play the fight song
Don’t walk between drums
Or Nick Daniele will yell

We’re Bronco Band for a season
And we’re just trying to entertain
The crowd
At every home football game

Drinking there still time for you
Bong a beer, maybe two
Morning practice hungover ain’t bad
But you’ve just gotta love Bronco Band
