Stayed home to take care of Janelly. Watched some shows with her:
Joe Kidd: probably the worst Clint Eastwood movie ever made. Neither of us had seen it. From the beginning we were worried. The theme music sounded like the opening to a bad 70's TV show (like, say, Hart to Hart). This in a Western! From there it just got worse. The plot flailed around like a fish in the bottom of a boat. The movie couldn't decide what it wanted to be about. Worse, several key plot points revolve around characters doing things that DON'T MAKE SENSE. And the pacing -- there was pacing? At the end, Janelly and I asked each other -- was that a movie? Or even a story? I got the feeling it was just random scenes piled on top of each other.
Fringe, the Pilot: Wasn't as bad as I feared. It didn't feel as much like a send-up as I was worrying about. I've heard episodes 2 and 3 are good, so I'll have to try them out. At least it'll give me something to talk about at FenCon.
