Writing
Edited first section of 3rd Chapter. +1250 words.
It wasn't as bad as I feared, but it was all out of order. That means I did a lot of inserts and cut and pastes. Which means it will need another glance over before I release it to readers.
The second section of Chapter 3 was pretty terrible, though, and I gave up on edits at the first paragraph.
Kung Fu
We did Wu Style 108 Long Form, Chen 86 Long Form (first section, as several people are still learning this), and Sun 77 Long Form. If we can fit in Yang Style 88 Long Form, we will be doing every style he has taught us so far.
Which reminds me, I need to learn WuHao Style Long Form and 42 Contemporary (a mix of all 5 major styles of Taiji).
Later we did Shaolin Jibengong, and started learning Shaolin 3rd Level Broadsword.
We recently finished Shaolin 3rd Level Staff. I asked Jia what happened to the first two levels, and he said that you only start to learn weapons after you reach 3rd level in Shaolin Empty Hand. So all the basic weapons forms are 3rd level.
Guitar
Did my standard tuning chords and basic songs. Getting better.
Played around in Open G.
Gymn!
Before Kung Fu, I went to the gymn. Ran for 20 minutes, doing intervals between 5.5 mph jog (for 1 min) and 7.6 mph sprint (for 30 seconds). Cool down jog for 5 minutes. Two pullups. Down from three, but I ran longer than normal.
Went and stretched while my legs were still warm. That made a tremendous difference. I could go so much farther. After stretches, sat in the hot tub.
Thoughts:
Three people in my department do triathalons. One of them just did the Iron Man (the big one). The other two are just starting out and doing sprints. A fourth person does marathons, as does one of the sudents at Kung Fu. I don't understand how someone can run or bike or swim for that long. It seems physically impossible to me. It makes me feel really out of shape. And it makes me feel competitive. I have no intention of doing a triathalon, but I would like to build up my endurance. I think interval training will be more useful to me than marathon running. But, man. *competitive engines start roaring*
