Fingers are pretty sore, but I'm icing them and using Dit Da Jow on them. Trying to avoid getting a blister, as I was told that slows everything down quite a bit.
Things I am practicing:
- Blues Scale. Getting pretty good at it. Not particularly smooth, but I can almost hit the notes without looking.
- Minor Scale. Just learned this. I've done it twice. Need much more practice.
- Chords: A and D have the most practice. E and G a little less. Fingers were sore by the time I started on them, so pain is a deciding factor on how much I practice these.
- Finger Picking: I've got a basic four-finger fingerpicking pattern I'm practicing, and if I use it when I shape a D-chord it sounds like the opening to REM's "Everybody Hurts." I've also stumbled into a nice little rhythm I like that Janelly sounds like the opening to Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters".
BTW, I stumbled into another set of free "learn guitar on youtube" lessons, and I like them even better than the others.
