Woo hoo! Bagua is back!
Since we have our own school finally, Jia is juggling the schedule aruond. Last night we had 4 hours straight - One each of Taiji, Xingyi, Shaolin, and Bagua.
Yep, that's right. Baguazhang is now being taught at group class again. Finally! And -- better than that -- it's also being taught tonight too. Woohoo.
Jia had a private class lined up, so he had me teach the Bagua class. And everyone was perfectly happy just learning to walk in straight lines using Tang Ni Bu (Mud Sliding Step). I guess Bagua must be harder to learn than I remember -- because just walking Tang Ni Bu in a straight line was looked pretty difficult for some of the guys. But they all hung in like champions. And they had fun.
That's the wierd part. I'm not sure how they had fun. Walking in a straight line is pretty boring in reality, but everyone was gung-ho to keep going. I taught them snakes too, but they need a little more work on that.
My legs and ankles got a great workout. I'm sure a few of them will be hurting today.
