32 - Sunset
Sean Maher/Jossverse Boy
Word Count: 1072 Nope, not a drabble either...
Note: I suck at writing RPS it seems. This was better compiled in my head at first thought.
“Hey Jewel, where the hell are you? The sun’s going to be down and being at the beach will kind of be a moot point.” Sean rolled his eyes and shifted the cell phone against his ear.
”I’m on the way Seany-boy. Just hold your fuckin’ horses. Turn around, I’m pulling in now.
Sean grinned and turned to see Jewel’s cherry red Jeep pull into the parking lot next to Sean’s Toyota. Shutting his phone he hurried over as quick as he could get footing in the sand over to Jewel, grinning as he reached the edge. “Hey pretty girl.”
“I’m cute, you’re the pretty boy, remember?” Jewel stepped out of her car and walked over to Sean, kissing him lightly before pulling his arm back to the car. “You’re carrying my bag. I am too tired.”
Playfully he rolled his eyes and took her bag, taking her beach chair from her grip and smirking. “Hey, if I don’t take it you’re going to take forever to get into the sand.” His eyes playfully dart over her before digging into hers. “I do want to get a chance to rub oil over you, you know.”
“In that case,” Jewel laughed and pulled her beach bag from Sean’s hands and hurried over to where he had his blanket all laid out. “You just wanna get your hot little hands on me.” She set her bag down and pulled her tee shirt over her head, showing off a colorful bikini top that left little to the imagination. “I’m booored…” she sing-songed, making Sean laugh as he finally caught up to her and set her things down.
“Lotion?” Jewel pointed to her bag at Sean’s inquiry and shimmied out of her shorts before setting down on her chair. “You packed enough crap for a week.” Shaking his head, Sean finally found the bottle and popped the top open to work on Jewel’s shoulders and back when a glint out in the ocean caught his eye.
Sean blinked a few times and adjusted his sunglasses, squinting as his eyes caught sight of a surfer paddling back out to catch another wave. Without turning away Sean started rubbing lotion on Jewel’s shoulders, his eyes fixed on the man in the water.
He watched as another wave broke, sending the man to pop up onto his feet and try to keep his balance, the water curling around him and leaving him hidden to Sean’s intense gaze. In the distance Sean heard Jewel moan as his grip on her shoulders became more intense, his eyes still fixed on the wave that kept the object of his vision hidden.
What Sean felt when the wave broke and the dark haired boy could be seen again couldn’t be put into words. He felt his breath hitch and he assumed that Jewel thought that it was her he was groaning softly at. He hoped that she didn’t notice his shorts either; that would be something he didn’t want to explain away.
“Sean?” Jewel’s voice broke her thoughts and he pulled his eyes away from the ocean, smiling down at Jewel and hoping that she thought that the blush on his face was just mild sunburn. “Better,” she whispered, reaching up with her hand to kiss him softly, turning and sitting on her knees, pressing her body to his as she deepened the kiss.
He moaned softly, resting his hands on her hips and kissing her gently. A sound out in the water made him open his eyes and without even realizing it turned them so he didn’t have to break his gaze, or the kiss.
Jewel giggled, pressing her hands against his chest, causing him to blink. “I’m not going to get sun if I’m half under your big ass.” She teased, sitting up and holding her hair up off her neck for him to finish putting on the lotion.
Sighing, he rolled his eyes and put a bit more on his hands, placing his hands on her shoulders and rubbing gently, moving his hands back down her back before wrapping his arms around her waist. Sean rested his chin on her shoulder and kissed her neck. “Glad you came.”
“Wouldn’t miss a sunset with my favorite boy in the world.” Jewel rested her hands over his and closed her eyes. “How are things with…”
“More games,” He whispered brokenheartedly, cutting her words off. “Not sure if he means to but…”
“He cares, you know that. It just…love’s scary. Makes things a bit more complicated when it’s not what a lot of people think of ‘normal’.”
Sean snorted and shook his head. “It’s not like I’m a goat or something.”
“Well you’d make a cute one. I could put a bow on you and have you come with me everywhere.”
“My boyfriend makes me a goat and my girlfriend makes me a puppy. I’m really feelin’ the ego boost here…”
“Sean you know that…” Jewel’s words were cut off when she heard footsteps crunching in the sand walking towards them. Jewel popped one eye open and watched as a man with the dark hair grinned and shifted his surfboard as he walked towards him, his hair wet and obviously tousled from the ocean.
“Hey, I uh saw you before and…” The man shifted and pitch forked his surfboard into the sand, leaning and gazing down at the two of them. “Would you care to go for a drink or…”
Jewel blushed, obviously flustered at the obvious display in public. “I…”
Scratching his head awkwardly the man ducked his head down. “I was…I didn’t mean…”
Sean’s face blushed deep red when his eyes met the other man standing, all three of them realizing that he was talking to Sean and not Jewel. “Oh,”
Without another word, Jewel got up and ran her fingers through her hair. “Go.” Wasn’t an offer, question or anything other than a direct order. Sean wasn’t going to complain. “You can leave the board here, I’ll be around for a bit to catch some sun. Maybe someone’ll ogle me.”
He got to his feet and kissed her cheek before turning to the other man. “Hey,” he muttered, digging his hands into the pockets of his swim trunks. “I’m Sean.”
“Nate.” He smiled and nudged Sean’s arm with his, a smile finally breaking out onto Sean’s face as he realized that he wasn’t going to be a dirty secret anymore.
