Hey Flist!!! Well I am writing because I actually have something interesting to share. I recieved a script from a friend whose friend is directing a one-act play for a contest here in Portland I think. Anyway so the auditions are next week (I just found out all oft his today) and apparently I need a 2 min contemporary monolgue (dramatic) for it.
The play is called Haiku and its about 3 woman (50 yr old mum, 20-30 older sis, 20-30 year old younger sis who is autistic and in her moments of clarity creates Haikus which her mum writes down and publishes. The Older sis returns home and talks/argues with her mum about how "well" young sis is actually doing (mum thinks she's improving, old sis doesn't see any change). Anyway I thought i'd give you an over view kinda.
My need for help is I want to know if anyone knows of any good monologues for my audition piece. I don't have a lot of time to read through plays but I thought perhaps some of you may know of a play with characters around the same age as the girls. Anyway if you have any suggestions that would be great.
Hugs Flist and ttyl!!!
