Just got done listening to The Dead Line, the one Torchwood Audio Play. It was really good except for one thing.
Jack had the Idiot Ball big time.
I mean, really. That was just inexcusable. Yes, it was required for the plot, but still. If you've heard the play, you know what I am talking about.

Ah yes, here it is. "Immortal Life is Cheap". It comes from when a character can't actually die... so you inflict lethal force every time just to show off the immortality. The hero, on the other hand, just stops trying in the self preservation department. That MIGHT ALMOST be a reason for what Jack does. He doesn't care about his life because, frankly, it's never going to end. (YMMV) But really, he needs to start thinking about what he is doing to other people when he gets himself popped. Also, he needs to remember that his lovers teammates are not as indestructible and stupidity can and will still get THEM killed. For good.
And yes I sound like a total mark who is speaking as though Jack were real. I don't care. I am still and will always be bitter about Ianto. It's my right, dammit. Mean ol' Rusty can't stop me from feeling.
