admittedly, I sound like a bird!
Holidays have been pretty great. The first week in Sydney/Blue Mtns was freezing, kinda relaxing and good to see relatives again. Lots of soccer and tea.
Since returning to Brisbane, I've worked a couple of times, tried to complete some sewing for fashion parade and slept. Happy Birthday to Brett, thanks for having us round!!
HIghlights, plus carmen wants photos, were the shows on Thursday and Friday nights.
Dion's on Thursday was grand because..
1. Aimy (among many many others) came
2. French Horns was intense and bruising yet amazing
3. The Devereaux, Nightcrash, Happy Chrissy reunion, Frouz, Stature::Statue all played well as expected.
4. Reuben and Brett forming a band for woodford/nananananananananowwww BABY GIVE IT UP
On Friday Ollie, Paul and I made some Tragic/Athletic patches. They are wicked cool, and everybody should have one. The show at the whitehouse gallery was excellent. Such a clean venue, and close to buses and stuff aswell. I didn't think much of either The Focus or Amateur Party, yet they seemed to have a pretty devoted group of fans. On/oxx played really well, despite Lachlan being helllll late.
My Disco! were amazing. I had anticipated as much but I was surprised at how rhythmically tight and generally genius they were.
Limited Express (has gone?) were soooooo good. The lead singer was pretty much the cutest thing I've ever seen. So petite yet energetic. I was mega excited about seeing them just because they were wearing all bright colors; orange, yellow, purple. So many people in the crowd were smiling, it was really great.
Other good things include:
- receiving Splendour tixx
- Candy store!
- 90's revival
- It's getting warmer.
- Hannargh = sleepovers
