In-Character Information
Name: Louie
Game/Series: Pikmin series (Pikmin 2)
Age & Grade Level: 20, senior.
Personality: Louie is the type of man who one would probably see as... well, possibly stupid for out of being so silent, slow, or unable to hold decent conversation. However, this assumption is actually the opposite of what Louie is. Truthfully, despite being quieter than the usual Hocotatian, he is actually pretty intelligent, and maintains a good head on his shoulders (unless his appetite gets in the way). Some people may wonder what lurks in that mind of his, or how much he knows, or how he thinks of things... but he usually doesn't speak TOO much. Despite this, however, he does talk when he feels he should, and when the time is swell enough for it, especially around people like Olimar-sensei and Petunia, or anyone he trusts greatly.
Louie... loves food. Oh, does he love food, and he maintains quite a taste for any edible delight he can come across, including (oh god) bugs (which are especially a favorite of his). He has a ravenous appetite which he tries to keep under control. Trust me, he really does! However, that usually falters, and he falls victim to his desire for delicious treats and... just eats. And eats... and enjoys it. This impulse can result in some undesirable results at times, as well, which Louie knows are all too possible, but... when he is hungry, he. is. HUNGRY. Make no mistake.
With his love for eating food comes his adoration for actually cooking it. His absolute favorite hobby is collecting recipes and/or writing some of his own unique ones down, and then getting them done with just the right ingredients. Spices here, the meat here, the veggies right over there... maybe some bugs... and boom, you have what Louie would probably cook on a daily basis. His love for whipping up yummy, tasty new dishes is a great one, probably the greatest he'd ever have for something like this. It's a passion that couldn't be overcome.
In short, Louie is silent, but smart, but knows when is the right time to be talking. He keeps a great love for bugs and food, eating them or cooking them alike. If the school suddenly becomes all aromatic with the scent of scrambled Honeywisp eggs or fried butterflies, chances are, it's Louie's doing.
Backstory: Louie, as a young boy, grew up with his mother and father in a somewhat 'rural' area of Planet Hocotate, going to a nearby school most of his time. Although he was around plenty of children his age and a couple of them wanted to play with him, he was awfully withdrawn from the social life. He usually spent time to himself, but of course, he was more open with his parents... especially his mother. His mother was the one who had given him his first interest in cooking, even though it was a bit dull when he was at such a small age, and adored Louie dearly. Louie loved her very much, as he did his father, as well, but... his mother was always seen as something incredibly special. On top of that, his dad was a very busy man, so he wasn't able to spend time with his son as much as Louie's mother could. All was somewhat well and harmonious...
... until his mother passed away when he turned 12. This struck the child hard, and caused him to be even MORE quiet and to himself than he previously was. His father noticed this, and sympathized greatly with Louie's pain... before thinking, well, maybe if he had more socialization with an older female family member in his life, it would help him? Thus, after some talking and some difficult decision-making with his own mother (Louie's grandmother), he finally chose to place Louie with her and in her loving hands. He wouldn't erase himself from Louie's life at all, for he would visit them as much as he could, but being so busy... made that tough.
Despite that, however, moving in with his grandmother greatly improved Louie's way of living now. His mood brightened up considerably and he began to open up some more (yet he was still quite silent). Watching his grandmother work with food and reading her cookbook... it all inspired him as an aspiring cook and caused his liking towards being a chef to turn into a full-blown passion. He also developed his love of bugs through his grandmother's ways... for, as much as he hated going to play outside in the hill behind the house, she made him eat bugs and plants. Louie then became all too willing to make dishes out of these...
... and soon, he did! As an older teenager, he began to stir up amazing dishes out of the bugs he loved to eat so much. From butterflies, beer-battered and fried to a crisp, to dragonflys and even roaches. They were all... very unique, to say the least, and Louie was quite pleased with the way his skills were increasing. He vowed then and there to collect as many recipes as possible, build up his own, and experiment with more different creatures and plants to cook with.
He then prepared himself to study in a nearby university once he hit 18, around two years ago from the present... when he realized he had no money for it. He needed to find a way to gather enough Pokos to even try to get in and STAY in. His grandmother tried to gather up as much money as she could over time to aid him... yet... it probably wouldn't be enough. He needed more... and thus, he decided to apply in Hocotate Freight. For a few weeks, he worked on some small jobs and began to grow at least a bit experienced over-time... enough for the President of the Freight to even believe that he would come to be a much better employee than Captain Olimar. Thus... he assigned Louie with a VERY important job. His very first full-blown MISSION!
Now, what was this, one would ask? Well... it was to transport a shipment of valuable golden Pikpik carrots. So crunchy, so tantalizing, enough to make Louie's mouth water like a bunch of raging rapids. He immediately stuffed the cargo in and boarded the ship, and headed out into space... yet on his way to his destination, Louie grew hungry.
... too hungry.
VERY hungry. UNCONTROLLABLY HUNGRY. And thus... he ate the entire shipment of the carrots.
When he returned to Hocotate, he informed the President of his misfortune... but not without a lie to nervously cover up his tracks. Not wanting to lose his job and the opportunity to get into school, he claimed that a ravenous space bunny had attacked him and did away with the carrots. This caused Hocotate Freight to drown itself in unmeasurable debt... but a glimmer of hope had arrived when none other than Captain Olimar landed back on the planet with a 'souvenir' from his trip to Earth: a bottle cap. Upon being informed of the news of the debt, Olimar had dropped the cap, which then rolled up to tap Louie's foot before falling flat on the ground... and soon enough, the Hocotate Ship had beamed it up into its hold to assess its value...
100 POKOS.
THAT WAS A WHOLE DAMN YEAR'S SALARY.
Not wanting his employees to make any haste, the President sent Louie and Olimar out on a journey to collect enough treasure to repay the debt of 10,000 Pokos. With the help of the Pikmin, a lot of learning on Louie's end, and quality time/struggle with and between the two workers... they finally did it. They had finally reached 10,000 Pokos. Not wasting any times, they flew back to Hocotate-...
Wait... wait, what was this?! Ollie turned around and noticed that... Louie was NOWHERE TO BE FOUND IN THE SHIP. He was left on the planet!
Upon being left behind, Louie hadn't a clue what to do. He decided to make good use of this, waiting faithfully for Ollie to come back for him, and chose to explore a little and pick up some bugs and dead creatures. He made use of a fire, sticks, and some rocks to attempt to cook them, and made mental note of his progress. He continued to move around, trying not to go too far... but upon reaching a hole leading underground, Louie could NOT resist the opportunities. There could be such delicious bugs in there!
Thus, he climbed down the hole and began to search around. At the time of day it was, the hole wasn't as lively as usual, and he was able to survive the trek down to the last floor... and upon reaching it, he came across... an awful lot of... treasure? Curiously, he neared the area... and then... BOOM, the Titan Dweevil had BURST right out of the ground, knocking the Hocotatian down and out cold. The creature hoisted him up onto her treasure and buried herself back down into the ground... holding him and her treasure close... and sending very low, very odd tremors around the floor, reaching Louie... and his brain. Taking the worker under her control as to make sure he wouldn't escape, and to use him for a number of possible reasons (a lure? Because of his shiny and unfamiliar outfit/helmet? To eat him later? It was completely unknown)... Louie couldn't remember a thing of this... until after he returned home.
He could remember one vision he had, however... of looking down on Ollie and the Pikmin as they fought the Dweevil... yet, Louie was unable to move... speak... shout... or anything... and he didn't remember anything else after that. Supposedly, he was unconscious for the rest of the way.
... and so he continued to go on with his life for a while after that, his secret about the debt not being told to anyone... and then eventually, two years or so later, he had heard of Sumabura Gakuen from his grandmother, who had found an ad about it in the newspaper (ads being sent THAT FAR being courtesy of CRAZY HAND~). His grandmother gave him enough money, the money that previously wasn't enough for his college, for him to travel to Earth and attend the school... and it was just barely enough. All too grateful for his grandmother's generousity, yet feeling bad for having to forcefully quit his job and leave his current school (which he was honestly quite fine with and at first, made him indifferent about dropping from it), he headed over to the school and attended... and boy, was he especially glad that his senpai (now his sensei) was instructing in this very academy or WHAT?
He stayed around SBG for a while... but soon began missing classes due to being very caught up in his own cooking practices. His experimentation finally began to quell down some, however, and he decided that now was a better time than ever to be around the school more.
Anything Else?:
-- BUGS BUGS BUGS COOKING COOKING COOKING BUGS BUGS BUGS BUGS BUG-COOKING.
-- Human form is
here! He has the Smash emblem on the left side of his chest area on the shirt. He also wears grey pants. :U
-- "Ursarings: Definitely not edible. Effects of consumption include but are not limited to impulsive, over-excited actions toward Pokemon professors and urges to fire lasers."
-- He has a Skulltula named Sydia, and ... Shunka wanted him to have a spiderbaby named Filo, yet since Louie wasn't even in the log with Ganondorf (despite that log having never been finished, I don't think...), I dunno if that can be possible. If Pix doesn't mind it, I'd like to keep with that. <3
-- He once had a small crush on Ollie, but it began to slowly fade. Does he have a crush on Petunia now or are these things just worded to look hinty...? *CACKLE* ... err, yes, there are hints of it, but it's not solid whether he really does love Petunia like that or not.
In-Character Example Post:
A lot has happened since my very last entry. I sincerely apologize that I've not been in school as much as I should have... I've been experimenting with plenty of new, delicious recipes that I'm very eager to finalize. Or... I was, mostly, but I needed to buy a new notebook to replace my old one to write down new recipes. My old one is nowhere to be found... all of those recipes... all of them are gone...
I promise I will be around much more than I previously was. I hope I haven't worried anyone! Especially not either of you, Sensei, Petunia... but I'm here now, and I suppose that's all that matters now, isn't it? I won't leave you two again, or anyone else.
I may go out again later to buy some ingredients... I have this sudden craving for some simmered silverfish stew.
