Wow, this school is big! Come to think of it, this reminds me of a puzzle!

See if you can't figure this one out.

There are one thousand students in a school, and every student has their own locker. The principal asks the first student to go to every locker and open it. Then she has the second student go to every other locker and close it. The third goes to every third locker and, if it is closed, they open it, and if it is open, they close it. The fourth student does this to every fourth locker, and so on. If this process continues all the way through the thousandth student, how many lockers will be open?
