[Hello SBG, today you have a very tall cow-looking lady and her pet bird loitering in your school yard. She's carrying a book covered in odd, primitive-looking symbols, but it doesn't look like some evil grimoire or anything like that. More like a dictionary.

Whoever she is, she'd better not be another god damn Pokemon she looks friendly enough ( Read more... )

shocky get out, not a pokemon what, wrong fandom, for fun

Ah! Hello! I am not from here, yes. Is this a... [Woops. She flips through the book, muttering to herself in some foreign tongue.] ah... che'alo... che...a...lo... Ah, place of learning, yes?

That's right - a School. We call it Smash Academy. You look like you'd do well, here if you don't mind my saying so!

Smash Academy. Hmm... [She smiles shyly at the compliment, but shakes her head to dismiss it and makes a gesture to the building.]

Is there teaching of world history and cultures?

Hmm... there's a class on English Literature but I hear it's very.. uhh... Book-ey. But just studying here is a way to learn about cultures and species from all around the world. And there's a lot of archaeologists who study and work here too. I'm one of them, haha! Well, I guess I'd be classified more as a treasure hunter than a Historian.

I do like to read... Smash Academy is very lucky to be diverse and not caught up in war! I have not seen your people.. where do you come from?

[Archaeology totally catches her interest. Mmm delicious artifacts and ruins.] You do not, ah, de... desa... [Out comes the book again.] ...rape the land to find treasure, or do you?

We had a war last year, unfortunately. We won in the end though, and we're pretty much rebuilt, now. And you won't see any more of my kind around - I'm the last one. My home is called Angel Island and normally it flies through the sky and orbits the planet, but for the moment it's set down in the ocean so I can study and know where it is.

And nah - Anyone'll tell you I'm all about keeping the land as pristine as possible. I'll do a little digging, but I try to keep things as close to how I found them as I can.

What about you? I don't think I've ever seen anyone quite like you before either... and what should I call you? My name is Knuckles the Echidna. *Extends a hand.* Oh, and this is my Spiderbird, Harley!

It is rebuilt so well, you cannot tell there was any damage. The spirits are not so easily fixed... But I am sad to hear you have lost your people.
[Floating islands, huh? ...Actually that doesn't sound weird at all. She figures Knuckles is from Outland where there are floating chunks of land everygoddamnwhere. Although anchoring it to the ocean that is impressive. Especially considering Outland doesn't have an ocean. Wait...]

You are better than Dwarves in keeping the land intact. I respect at that.

[OH RIGHT NAMES.] My name is Aquenda Tenderhoof, I am from the land of Kalimdor. This is Moema. He is like a spirit guide. [Moody parrot just squawks. Aquenda's tribe doesn't do the whole handshake thing, so she completely misses the gesture and bows instead.] It is good to meet you, Knuckles and Harley!

I'd like to think most folks are feeling a lot better about the war thing now... I know I try and avoid thinking about it as much as I can. But anyhow, I didn't really lose my people so much as I never had them. I was born alone and had to bring myself up and only learned my people's history once I was old enough to figure out the tablets and scrolls and tapestries left behind.

*Knuckles drops his hand and bows back.* It's great to meet you too, Aquenda and Moema!

*Harley is just staring intently at this small, moody bird. It looks very colorful and light it might be fun to play with.*
