So this is Sumabura Gakuen, huh? I've heard quite a lot about it. Some very... interesting things. I've heard there's a great faculty and staff. And that the classes and curriculum are amazing. But most importantly, I heard that...

There were Pokemon here! I wonder what kinds there are. I bet some of them are simply stunning. Of course nothing ( Read more... )

for the lulz, ruby, it will never beeeee

Contests?!

*Hoji has never heard of other Pokemon events before apart from league battling, so she doesn't know about Pokemon contests.*

Yeah, you know, Pokemon contests.

... You have heard of Pokemon contests... right?

I've heard of Pokemon stuff, but not that!! What are the contests like?

You haven't heard of Pokemon contests?! Oh you poor, poor girl. Here, let me explain.

There are five types of Pokemon contests. Pokemon can either be entered in Cool, Beauty, Cute, Smart, or Tough contests. Within each type, there are four ranks. The ranks start with Normal for beginnings. Then when you win a ribbon for that rank, you are allowed to enter the next rank up. The other ranks are Super, Hyper, and Master.

A contest consists of two rounds. The first round is the general appeal round, meaning a Pokemon must strut it's stuff and show off it's appearance and moves. The second round is a battle round, where Pokemon and their coordinator partners battle against one another in order to show their power and abilities.

Did you catch all that?

... I did!

That sounds like a lot of fun, I should research more about those!! I'm planning on being a Pokemon researcher one day like Professor Oak, so I'm going to go try my best to be just like him and know everything ever about Pokemon and battles and contests and all sorts of stuff!

... Oh yeah! I'm Hojita! oUo

Hojita, huh? Well it's nice to meet someone as enthusiastic about Pokemon as you are. My name's Ruby.

So you want to be a researcher, huh? That'll be a lot of work. But if you're passionate about it, I'm sure it'll be fun.

Yay!! Hi Ruby! You sound a lot like someone I know! 'U' Except he never mentioned contests??

It's a lot of fun work! I get to try to see as many Pokemon as I can so I can prepare and I can write notes about them and learn their types and their moves and their personalities maybe and their special abilities and their looks and *blah blah blah a lot of Poke ranting here*...

I remind you of someone? Who might that be?

Wow, you... really like Pokemon, huh? Not that I can blame you, though. Heh, I bet you'd hit it off great with Professor Birch.

One of my best friends ever!! His name is Red, he used to come to the school! 'U' He had Pokemon, too!

... Who's Professor Birch?! *OH BOY ANOTHER PROFESSOR?!*

Red? Can't say I've heard of him. Then again, I don't really pay much attention to people outside of contests. Oh well.

You want to be a Pokemon researcher and you don't know Professor Birch? He's the leading Pokemon professor in the Hoenn region.

bulbmin_glutton June 14 2009, 01:23:07 UTC
Then maybe that's why, I don't think he says stuff about contest stuff!!

Really?! I've never heard of Hoenn, either! Only Kanto and Johto! I need to find Professor Birch really soon so I can talk to him and ask him questions and a lot of other stuff!!

... Only heard of Kanto and Johto? Geez kid, you need to get out more. Hoenn's one of the best places around!

Though I've got to admit, Sinnoh has some of the best Pokemon contests. Not to mention the glorious Fantina lives in Sinnoh. *sparkly eyes* She's such a genius when it comes to contests. Oh, but you can't forget Hoenn's own Wallace. He's a master of contests. If only I could be as amazing as those two. *dreamy sigh*

bulbmin_glutton June 14 2009, 01:30:58 UTC
But Kanto's my favorite because Professor Oak is there!!

Are Fantina and Wallace professors, too?! And why are you acting so funny?

hasribbons June 14 2009, 01:40:42 UTC
So Professor Oak's your idol then, huh? Can't say I've ever met him in person... But if he's anything like Birch, then... uh... *brb imaging two Birchs... oh god whyyyyyy* Ugh, never mind.

What? No, no. Fantina and Wallace are both gym leaders. Fantina is a gym leader in Sinnoh and Wallace is in Hoenn. But they're both well known in the contest circuit.

I think you'll like him, though! He's very nice, so don't worry!! 'U'

Ohhh! You mean like the one that's here? Ummm! I think his name is Serje? *can't spell his name*

hasribbons June 14 2009, 02:07:58 UTC
Serje? That name doesn't sound familiar... Oh wait, do you mean... uh... Shoot what was his name? Darn, Sapphire would probably know--oh wait! Surge? ... I think that's it...
