Hi everyone!
If you're going to be around Seattle during break, let me know because we should all get together! We could do something at my house in the U-district if people are interested... respond or send me an email!
Also, as you probably all know from my epic LJ entries, I was in Zimbabwe for the summer working for an HIV intervention program. I have now received a shipment of really awesome beaded AIDS ribbons that I am selling to support AIDS orphans in Zimbabwe. They are 1 ribbon for $2 or 3 ribbons for $5.
The ribbons are hand-made by the orphans themselves, and were sent to me by the Centre, an HIV/AIDS resource center in Zimbabwe. In the past, this organization has helped to support AIDS orphans through a grant and by selling these ribbons on the side. As the economy in Zimbabwe is quickly going downhill, their grant was not renewed this year. Now, the ribbons are the only source of income to support these kids, so they are looking for overseas markets for the ribbons.
Here is a picture of some of the ribbons that they sent to me. If you have any interest in buying one or a few, and/or if you know anyone else I should ask, please let me know!
