[Event] 30 Days in Visual Kei - Day 28
FASHION IN VISUAL KEI
Honestly what is "kei" without the "visual" in this genre? The twin concepts of cool rock sonds and exciting visuals are so tightly wound in this music that fans can't really have one without the other. And what is a "visual kei event" without a discussion of favorite styles?

I love how these ladies mix the masculine and feminine in their styles, and I always love how they use bad @$$ leather mixed with lace. Very cool. Very sleek.
Black Gene for the Next Scene (DOOM single)
It's Ice's hat, really. But seriously, I love how they mix texture and fabric with hints of color.
Kra (Honne single)
Again, Kra is another band that mixes wild color with lots of texture and layers. It's the layers that are attractive here. (Well, that and Yasuno's kicky red boots!) The only thing I *don't* dig about this style is the cut of Taizo's jacket, but I love the color.
The Kiddie (current)
I don't listen to The Kiddie, so I can't speak to their music style... but there has always been something about their style that makes me look twice. Again, they have vibrant colors, patterns, and layers, but somehow they've managed to color-coordinate everyone for a more tied-together look. I like it.
Alice Nine (Gemini album)
These guys are always (well, almost always--looking at you Shou-robe) tops in my fashion book. They know how to mix their style to match the current mood of their music, and they are always very fashionable. Perhaps it helps that a couple of them actually pay attention to high fashion and fashion designers. Whatever it is, they know how to mix color, fabric, and style. I love it when they use lots of leather and sleek, silky fabric like this Gemini look. But, get Saga a dang sweater, guys, especially if it's winter!
