I'm usually not crazy about song remakes, but Alice Nine surprised me with this new version of their song "Gokusai Gokushoku Gokudouka ". The original had become standard concert fare--a song with a fun, regular march beat that fans could headbang to. The new G3, however, took an old fan favorite and totally turned it on its ear. From the very beginning, it's hard to tell that this is even the same song, and it really shows how they have grown in experience and arranging. G3 is now a heavy, moody rock anthem that sounds current and will probably stay in their playlist for a long time.
