Your dialogue is so great! Their jibes are refreshingly snarky, un-romanticized, and fitting with the season.

We’re never going to be able to take them all down!

I like how she automatically says 'we,' as though they're a team.

“BRAINS!”

Ha, he is such a lovable moron. It's so Spike.

His eyes narrowed. “So I’d suggest...all the nerve endings in her body.

The UST is tasty and also so in keeping with the season. I like how he hesitates before saving her from strangulation (so very Spike), how she kicks him (so very Buffy), and how he doesn't take it lying down.

Or you could. If you get torn apart, I’ll know they’re still there. Plus, funny.”

Hee! Oh, Buffy, if he got torn apart, you'd never know what you were missing!

The satisfying crunch that came with breaking his nose almost made up for being forced to spend time teaming up with him. Almost.

Such a great ending! I can see this scenario happening in canon.

Thank you so much! I'm glad it seemed to fit into canon well. It's sort of nerve-wracking trying to walk the line between snarky UST and too romanticized UST in S4/early S5 fics.
