“It was you, Farmer Aurelius,” Buffy said. “You moved the scarecrow to wherever you needed it to be to scare Winnie into giving you the farm.”
“We found your fingerprints all over the secret switch to the study,” Willow said, “and you were the only one who could’ve taken the car without being seen.”
“I found your tomato juice cans in the pantry, except they weren’t tomato juice, were they?” said Xander, who had tried to drink a can and made himself into the unexpected saviour of our story-Farmer Aurelius never expected anyone to want to drink tomato juice, but he didn’t know Xander, who had also raided the pantry for the more usual soda, chocolate milk, and apple juice before moving onto the tomato juice.
“Rai round re romaro ruse,” said Spike crossly, who had spoke strangely because of his unnaturally long canines. His assertion was probable because he happened to adore tomato juice, almost as much as he adored Spike SnacksTM.
“Farmer Aurelius, your plan’s kaput,” Buffy said, hands on her hips, which were cocked out just so to emphasise her cute new skirt and heels. “Talk about worst laid plans, right?”
Aurelius snarled, struggling against the ropes Buffy had tied him up with. “My plan was genius. It would’ve been perfect! And I would’ve gotten away with it too if it weren’t for you meddling kids!”
Buffy waited but when Aurelius didn’t continue, she added, “And our pet, right?”
“Rey!”
