I also am sorry to see an interesting middle-aged vamp get dusted. We don't have enough Darlas, Drus, or Lawsons decorating the landscape. However, Spike's thoughts on the matter give perspective and have a certain poetry:

he's saved hundreds of people from future depredations of some dread fiends. So he's going to have a fucking fantastic night to prove it.
