Global Night Commute was amazing. amazingly amazing and amazingly torturous. ALL AT ONCE!
(incase you are not aware Global Night Commute was on April 29th when 50,000 people went to their nearest large city and slept there overnight in a sort of protest/trying to get attention for the "invisible children" in uganda. invisiblechildren.com go there!)
that night came many firsts.
first time i bought a tarp.
first time i was standing in the rain for 12 hours.
first time to spend the night in chicago.
first time to go to any kind of rally.
first time to have a 10 legged non-race.
first time to truly be thankful for any dry space.
first time to write a letter to george bush.
first time to chop off all of my hair. in the dark.
first time to fall asleep while standing up while keeping warm by a hand dryer in a bathroom in a train station for 1.5 hours.
we took many a group picture
esther cut her dreads off for donations to invisible children.
so we did too...sarah, bethany, arissa, and ann. bethany is caressing my head here.
we were a bit shaky about this decision.
first time wearing a poncho
me and friends writing letters to senators and mr. president bush.
it was amazing.
