At the beach

We're at the beach.  I'm sitting in the lobby, getting a few minutes of alone time with my laptop (required daily).  I thought I'd post and let you all know that we arrived safely and had a nice, if wet, start to our vacation.  We spent the afternoon in the hotel pool, which was AWESOME because they also have a spa/whirlpool which waterfalls into the main pool.  Plus there is a kiddie pool wading area, which was great for Ethan.  He thought he rocked the house since he could TOUCH.  He must have said it 50 times.  "I can touch!!  It was hilarious.  He also jumped off the side to Ralph and me several times, and practiced swimming with his vest on.  Aiden swam all over the pool, and he learned the back stroke today.  By "learned" I mean he taught himself.  Somehow he's become an Olympic swimmer-in-training in the past week.  It's been quite a 180, but a pleasant one.

Then we went back to the hotel room and got dressed for dinner.  Ralph and I both pushed one boy in an umbrella stroller all the way down the boardwalk.  We walked freaking FAR.  Our goal was mainly to find a place to eat dinner, but somewhere around mile #2 we decided that our main goal was to exercise.  Which was fortunate because we became supremely picky about what to eat for dinner, and right about the time we decided just to go back and get the car and drive to dinner, it started to downpour.  We jumped on the trolley in the hopes of staying dry, but I picked the worst seat, right at the end, under the edge of the roof, right where the water ran off.  So yeah, we ended up totally soaked and running back to our hotel.  By the time we got there we could wring water from all of our clothing.  We got changed and went out for pizza, which was quite successful and yummy.  Then we made a quick stop into Acme for milk, bread, and some essentials (candy), before coming home for the night.

And when we came home, Ethan pooped on the potty A.GAIN.  I know!

So now I think I will peruse the internets while I have a few child-free moments, but have no fear, I will be checking my friends' entries RIGHT. NOW.

I'll be back online sometime tomorrow!
