And then my head exploded.
Aiden's 7 year check up was yesterday. I really like my pediatrician's office overall, but one complaint I DO have is that the wait is often borderline interminable. All of the waiting might not even phase me if I were sitting by myself reading my book or people-watching peacefully. But, add in a very active, uber talkative 7 year old, and boom. Holy shit call his name NOW.
Here are some of the things Aiden wanted to talk about while we waited.
Did you know that all of these chairs, couches, and tables are connected? How do they do that?
This couch is the same as that couch, did you notice that?
That chair is striped. Do you like stripes? I do.
Babies are SO. CUTE. Aren't they?
Why are babies so cute? Ethan was THE CUTEST baby. You used to chase him around and try to get him and he would run away.
Is that baby Chinese?
Peed-ee-aah-tricks, right? (repeat 90 times)
[takes slight break from talking to slide to floor 4 times, as if melting]
Me: Please sit properly.
Aiden: [resumes talking]
Why do we have all these lines on our hands? Why are eyes in our heads?
Why are our lips pinker than our other skin? I think it is dried blood from when you are born. (ew!)
There are A LOT of lights in here, I mean, don't they know there is a sun?
Why do doctor's offices always have REALLY OLD books?
[takes off coat, slides down on chair again, as if in a modified back-bend, knees on floor. makes weird noises]
Me: Please sit properly.
Can doctor's appointments be in the Fall? (here I was quite confused)
Do I need to get shots today? I am nervous and scared!
[nearly lays on my lap until fear subsides, then continues talking]
Do you think Daddy is playing video games right now? I bet Ethan is watching.
I hope I get called soon. [listens to receptionists talking] Doctors talk A LOT.
My shoes are SO OLD. (he got them for Christmas) I mean, look, this light is out, and so are these two, I need new shoes.
What is for dinner tonight? Oh it's a surprise? What kind of surprise? Is it from you or daddy? Both? Ah.
[walks around waiting room, finds book on trucks, sits back down]
I love this book. Wow this book is totally ripped up! Toddlers! Why do toddlers rip everything?
