PS. I love you anyway.

Dear Four Year Old:

Please, by all means, move as slowly as possible when I ask you to go brush your teeth.  Being late excites me and adds that little bit of adrenaline into my morning.  I love a side of high blood pressure with my granola and yogurt!

I also love it when you make an extra stop on the way to brush your teeth, like today, when you gazed lovingly into the refrigerator for 2 minutes.  That refrigerator does need some extra attention, and I'm glad you're willing to step up.  Oh, and thank you for pointing out to me that we still have one pack of sweet and sour sauce left.  I was thinking about that all night.

Tomorrow, when I ask you to put on your shoes, instead of doing 5 cartwheels first, please do 6 or even 7.  That would be swell.

I thrived on our argument about whether or not you should have to wear your jacket this morning.  Please continue that argument every single day!  It was so invigorating!

Oh, and I wanted to mention, you sure do know me!  Because, (of course!) if you keep asking, I will eventually let you run across the entire parking lot by yourself to preschool!  Just keep asking every single day, several times.  And make sure you whine.  I am bound to give in.

Love,
Mommy
