Akiyama Yuko on outer appearance appeared to be just like an ordinary girl who is quiet and have nothing special going on in her life but she hold a secret that she wished no one know about it not because to protect herself but to protect peoples she love. It’s not a bad secret or anything like that, not like she killed someone or something like that but the secret that she needs to protect are her friends, her childhood friends to be exact. Well, it is not much a secret if her childhood friends are ordinary peoples but her childhood friends are known by everyone in Japan because they are idols. A very popular group idol called Arashi.
They are her weakness and losing them is her greatest fear. That is why she didn’t want anyone to know that she is their friend and vice-versa because she felt that peoples might try to break them or something like that. They called her crazily overprotective but they love her anyway. Yuko chuckled to herself while she placed the last plate in the dining table. After a final look, she nodded and headed to the kitchen to clean up a bit but before that, the doorbell ringing.
“Coming!” she yelled to the door and hurriedly open it. Various hi and yo coming through the door and 5 grown up man engulf her in a tight hug while coming inside.
“Yuko-chan!!” one of the men screamed to her ear while hugging her. She winced a little and wonder if she will be deaf soon because of the high pitched scream he gave her everytime they see each other.
“Ma-nii, not so loud,” Yuko said while hugging back. Aiba Masaki always the hyper one and he is always the one she relies on whenever she feels sad or lost. It is not like he can give good advices but all he need to do is be with her and she will feel alright. How can someone be depressed seeing his bright smile?
“Here, I got this wine from my senpai, we should drink this,” another man playfully pushed Aiba away and hug her after he showed her the wine.
“Thank you, Sho-nii. That look expensive,” Yuko said while taking the bottle and put it on the kitchen counter. Sakurai Sho, the brain of the group but also the dorkiest. She always wonders how he can be so different while on news and when he is with Arashi but that is one of his charms. For all the years she have known him, he have help her a lot. Not only through her studies but also on her problems. He is the one she relies on if she needs a good advice.
Sho just shrugged his shoulder and smile at her. He went inside and starts to join Aiba to steal some food from the table. Yuko just shake her head and hug the next person. That person brings out a Tupperware and opens it to let her peeks what inside.
“Kaa-chan said this is good for you, full of vitamins and all,” he said while closing it back and giving it to her.
“Tell Kaa-chan thank you, ne Toshi-nii,” Yuko said and Ohno just nod his head. Ohno Satoshi is the eldest in the group and like her, he prefers to be quiet but she think that he be quiet because he love to observe and think what happen around him. She used to hang out around his parents’ home and just observe him when he is painting or sculpting clays. He is someone who will be there for you and stay with you without any questions until you feel better and he is the one she go to the most because his presence just calm her somehow.
Following Ohno is Ninomiya Kazunari. The prankster and the brat but very talented with music percussions. She love to see him playing with guitar or piano and listen to his songs. Even though sometimes he didn’t show it to anybody, he always making sure that she listens to it. He showed his bad with a smirk on and I punch him lightly before hugging him.
“Seriously Kazu-nii, you still want to play games?” Yuko said jokingly.
“Of course! What’s the fun of gathering if you didn’t play games,” Nino said while rolling his eyes. They laugh at each other and she point him to her TV so that he can set up the Wii. All of the sudden, someone shoved a basket full of fruits in her arms. She almost fall but after regaining her balance, she look up and glare to the person who standing in front of her with a smirk on his face.
“That is sooo not nice, Jun-kun,” Yuko glared harder and shoved his shoulder playful. He just smirk at her again and shoved her shoulder too. Matsumoto Jun, he is a jerk and he love to tease people whenever he can but like her, he is very overprotective and kind towards his friends. He seldom shows the kindness part but he can be so kind sometimes and you will wondering if something happen to his head. Well, no matter what, he is the bestest friend she have. Yuko just shake her head and headed to the kitchen to place the fruit basket. She takes a bucket and fills it with ice and put the wine inside to let it cool. When she is done, she notices that Jun is sitting on her kitchen counter while looking at her.
“What?” Yuko asked while looking at him back.
“Nothing, it just that recently we didn’t get to hang out much and I missed this,” Jun explain while make gesture with his hand. Yuko laugh and poke him on his arm and he try to dodge it but failed miserably. As revenge, he tries to poke her back but she turned away and starts to run to the living room laughing. Jun just shake his head and chase after her. When he found her, she already snuggles between Ohno and Sho on the couch while watching Aiba and Nino playing games. He just smiles and pats her head. Yuko look up and smile at him while making a space for him to sit. He sits down and pokes her playfully.
“Ne, can’t we eat now?” Aiba said while looking at Yuko with his puppy eyes.
“No, not until Shun-kun is here,” reply Yuko. Oguri Shun is her boyfriend for 2 years and they have met and introduced by Jun. At first she kind of reluctant to be with him but Shun keep courting her and she learned to love him. He is the most perfect boyfriend she can have and he is everything to her but he still number 2 if being compared to her childhood friends.
“Cheh~” Aiba pout and continue playing games. Yuko just giggle and look at the clock. Recently, Shun always busy and she don’t want to be the busybody girlfriend type and always asked less questions about his work whenever he is too busy to meet or always getting late on their date but sometimes she wonder if this relationship is okay. After a moment, the phone ring and Yuko picked it up. She move a bit far from the living room to hear more clearly.
Jun looked at her and can sense that she a bit tense. It must be Shun on the phone, cancelling again. Jun make a mental note to talk to Shun about this and without realizing, he clench his fist tightly.
“You know Jun, I always wonder why you didn’t just confess to Yuko that you love her,” said Nino while still playing the game.
“What?” Jun said, startled.
“You obviously love her,” said Nino again and look at Jun after pausing the game. Aiba nodded his head as the rest of them.
“I don’t understand what you are saying,” Jun said while trying to calm himself and look out the window.
“Jun, we all can see how much you feel jealousy whenever Yuko-chan with Shun-kun,” say Sho. Jun stared at all their faces and takes a deep breath.
“Am I that obvious?” Jun asked.
“Well, except Yuko-chan, we all can see it,” voiced Ohno.
“It’s hard, I don’t want to ruin our friendship,” Jun said while looking at Yuko again.
“Plus, we good like this…I guess? And Yuko currently in a relationship with Shun and she is happy. When she is happy, I happy. Okay?” say Jun. He takes a deep breath again and looks down. Nino chuckled and smirk
“Whatever you said,” Nino said and continues playing his game.
“Let’s eat,” all of the sudden Yuko said. She put back the phone receiver on the table.
“What about Shun?” asked Aiba.
“He can’t make it, he said he got some last minute shooting or something like that,” said Yuko. Even though she’s trying to sound cheerful but they notice a bit of sadness on her tone. All of the sudden, Aiba clapping.
“Let’s eat!” Aiba shout and hurriedly to the dining table. Everyone cheered and headed to the dining table. Jun pat Yuko’s head and pull her to the dining table. That night, everyone trying to cheered Yuko and she feels so grateful to have this 5 bestfriends.

Yuko have been trying to called Shun over hundred times, well, that is a bit exaggerated but the main point is that he didn’t answer. Frustrated, she headed to the kitchen for some ice-cream.
“Maybe he is sleeping, he do have a lot of works recently,” mumble Yuko to herself. She bites the last bite of the ice-cream and snatched her phone again but before she can do anything, her phone ring. She smiles looking at the viewer ID.
“Moshi moshi~” Yuko answered the phone.
“You sound cheerful, something good happen?” asked the caller.
“Nothing, just that I am happy you called, Jun-kun. I was bored,” answered Yuko.
“Shun is not with you?” asked Jun, curiously.
“No, why?” asked Yuko back. Her instinct tells her that something is wrong.
“Oh, nothing. Just asking,” answered Jun but in his voice is wavering. As if he had to lie to me.
“Are you sure, Jun-kun?” Yuko asked. She could feel her heartbeat beating faster, afraid what Jun’s answer will be.
“Yes. Oh, I need to get back to work, I called you back later, ‘kay?” say Jun and immediately hang up.
Yuko stared at the phone and her brain started to think all negative thinking. Why Jun lied to her just now? She shakes her head and takes a deep breath. Maybe it was just her imagination and maybe because she missed Shun so much that she start to worry unnecessary stuff. She smacked her own head and sit down on the couch. Shun is an actor, he got different schedule than her so she must understand because in his line of work requires him to be away and can’t always answered the phone. She nodded to herself after giving herself that pep talk and wanted to apologize to Shun for calling so much. She started to message him but he beat her.
Shun message her that he sorry he can’t answered the phone because of works and promise to call later at night and she answered it as cheerfully as she can. All of the sudden, Yuko have this bright ideas. Maybe she can help Shun by cooking him dinner at his house and surprise him. She smiled at the idea and immediately getting ready to buy some groceries and headed to Shun’s apartment. She rarely do surprises because she kind of afraid that Shun’s hate it but the last time she did it, he love it so she want to do it again.
Yuko humming all the way from her house to the grocery store and after buying all the things she needed, she headed to Shun’s house. The cloud started to become black and the rain started to pour. After wiped herself a bit with handkerchief, she greet the security guard and headed for the lift. She opened the door to Shun’s apartment with her key and went inside. She surprised to see a few candles been lit and roses scattered the floor.
“Shun?” Yuko called. She smiled to herself. Maybe Shun surprise her first. She walks slowly, don’t want to damage the rose petals on the floor and saw that there’s light in Shun’s bedroom. She tiptoed and opened the door slowly. What she saw is not something that she wants to see.
“Yuko!” shout Shun, surprise. He immediately stands and Yuko can see a woman, naked, only covered by the bed sheet. The woman’s face look surprise and looking at her with wide eyes. Yuko can feel her anger build inside and tears threaten to fall. She shakes her head, refuse to let it go. Shun try to reach for her but Yuko smack his hand away.
“I can’t believe you, both of you!” screamed Yuko. She glared at Shun and the woman.
“Mao-chan, you suppose to be my best friend,” say Yuko in a low voice. She feels like her voice going to betray her soon. She has to be strong.
“Yuko-chan, baby, I’m…I’m…” Shun try to say something but Yuko slap him before he can say anything. Mao gasped. Can’t take it anymore, Yuko immediately run towards the door and get out from Shun’s apartment. She can hear Shun is calling for her but she don’t care anymore. She just wants to get out from there, to erase all her memory, all her pain. She run and run and when she noticed she is wet, cold and in front of Jun’s apartment. She started sobbing and tears keep falling. She lean her head to the door and keep crying.
“Jun-kun,” whisper Yuko.
