(no subject)
i have decided to leave my job in korea in june and go traveling for a while before returning home...
so my job is up for grabs.. intested?? read
so that means my job here is up for grabs. if anyone is interested, this is a really amazing school i work at. we have smart students and a kind boss. a lot of people who work in korea complain about not being able to communicate with their boss, as many koreans open schools without really knowing english themselves. this school is run by an american man and a korean woman with excellent english. they are both understanding and sensible so it's a good work environment.
my job is teaching a few beginner classes, ranging from singing ABC's to reading Dr. Seuss. we do a little talking, singing, reading and always play a game at the end. these are cute classes (especially the 5-6 year olds). last week my youngest student Yuri pipes up "kerri i love you" after she spent the whole class latched onto my arm and humming to herself. i can't believe how adorable and sweet the kids are sometimes.. i only hope my own kids are that cute.

i also do speech classes, which are designed to boost the students' confidence with actually using their english out loud. i'm making the class up as i go, but it usually consists of getting the kids to talk about their weekends/schools/dreams/families/korea and etc. they do bi-weekly written work that i assign. it's very relaxed and the students are funny and bright.
if one of you is seriously interested in coming to korea, this may be the best job out there.. it will be starting around june 4-8. write me an email at kerristrothard@gmail.com and we can talk about setting up an interview with my boss.
here is a video from my class last friday, it was game time and this class always says the most ridiculous things. watch and you too can experience the whistling incomprehension and awesomely cute laughs of my students...
