Until he lived with Sirius, Harry had never seen the Olympics. The Dursleys were not a family who were interested in the events. They called most of it Rubbish anyway. It was a bit amusing to Harry to realize his first true exposure to the Muggle events was from his Wizard godfather. Sirius found quite a bit about Muggle culture fascinating though.
It was while watching the events that Harry wondered what he would be able to compete at. Surely not Gymnastics. He did not have the grace for that. He was an alright swimmer, but nothing that would make him stand out against anyone else. He'd yet to drive anything other than a motorbike, and they didn't have a flying event of course. He settled on Archery. Out of everything that he'd witnessed on the telly it was Archery that seemed the easiest to learn.
Luckily there were plenty of rooms in Grimmauld to practice in as the moment he shared this thought with Sirius, his godfather's grey eyes lit up and plans were made to put in an indoor practice range. Perhaps, in the future, he should keep his thoughts to himself. Perhaps not. Especially since Sirius put up portraits of Severus Snape to aim at.
