He really wasn’t dangerous at heart. He knew that, and Greg was always there to remind him when he forgot. Which was he wasn’t surprised to find himself holding the helmet, frozen, torn between pangs of excitement and a growing rumble of dread. His heart slammed against his ribs insistently, as he eyed the bike and then the helmet, a vague worry over what this hardened plastic could really do for him if his head hit the asphalt at forty miles an hour, and how well could Greg drive that thing, and his hair was going to be so squished when he finally took the helmet off….
And then Greg was laughing, tugging him close, whispering in his ear. Reminding him that the motorcycle had been his idea in the first place, and it had, and he was glad he’d brought it up, really. Really. Because he wanted Greg to enjoy life more, and this was one way to do it. Better yet, they could enjoy it together.
But maybe he hadn’t really thought through the part where he put his life in the hands of a misanthropic drug addict with self-destructive tendencies.
Lips pressed into his, just for a heartbeat. His thoughts stilled.
He knew he had been worried about something….
Fuck it. He was with Greg, he could do anything.
