I know what an '85 Firebird sounds like angry :)

Well, Sunday evening was quite the adventure. My sister calls up to tell me that our dad wants to take us all out for sushi, so that evening, they come by and pick me up...in the Firebird. Picture four average adult bodies inside a small, restored 1985 Pontiac Firebird. I haven't been that squished in since the stunt I did with Blue Man Group. As we drove, we could feel every peak, dip and pothole. Finally, we arrive at the sushi bar, and climb out of the vehicle as best we can. Dad is waiting for the engine to cool down, when all of a sudden, we hear a giant *BANG*. It was as if a gunshot rang out, but it was the car backfiring. I wasn't even that close, and I nearly had a heart attack. My sis was standing behind the car when it happened, and she said it felt like her heart stopped.

So we go in, eat, and have a good dinner. Apparently, after the meal we were planning to see Gone Baby Gone at the cinema a block away. Dad announces that we'll have to walk over, since the car will now need some time to cool off thoroughly. With our stomachs full of rice and assorted raw fish, we walk down the parking lot, practically jaywalk across US-1, and down to the plaza where the theater is. After the show, we walked all the way back, and by the time we got back to my place, I gave dad my car key while he left the Hot Rod in my spot.

Finally, early this morning, he came and got me as we drove the 'Bird over the the Hot Rod shop. It was almost done, and now it's just another thing to get fixed. Ah well.

Jericho's coming back tonight. I'm psyched and have a tape in the VCR. Only things that'll be missing from '99 are a cheese and cracker platter, and Blake checking to see if I'd suffered an anxious asthmatic fit...lol :)

Everyone have a happy and safe Thanksgiving. Don't worry about overeating, that's what the day is for. Back soon!
