Update: IMPORTANT!
Hi guys,
Thanks to everyone who's voted in the poll and/or commented with feedback--it's really been very helpful. Thank you also to the people who've reuploaded things and posted to the community--you are all fabulous!
Now--here's what's new. I've been in contact with newshfan (and before anyone asks--yes, I'm sure it's her, and no, I will not put you in contact with her. Please respect her privacy.) She's said that she doesn't mind the reposting. However, she asks that all comments be locked on anything that is reposted. She's also told me that she has no plans at the moment to delete her links on Megaupload/Mediafire, but rather just let them die out, whenever that may happen.
For the moment, posting has been disabled until everything is sorted out. I'm hesitant to continue with reuploading as opposed to just reposting her original links because as I understand it, links die sooner if they are unused. It might be better to just repost her original links to try and keep them alive rather than spreading downloads across multiple links.
If you have posted something, please disable comments on that post. I'll be reminding people individually, but just a heads-up. And again, thank you very much for helping out--even if it ends up being a duplicate, it's wonderful to know that there are people in the fandom willing to help out.
Finally, after reviewing the results of the poll and everyone's feedback, at the present time we will lock all posts with downloads but keep membership open and unmoderated. I think this is a reasonable compromise, particularly if this community becomes simply a place to house newshfan's links, rather than reuploads.
I'll be updating the FAQ etc. in the next day or so. For now, sit tight.
