Too long. He's waited too long, delayed too long, he's practically shivering with anticipation. This will be perfect. He just can't let it go too fast. It'll have to last him some time. He can do this. He can be meticulous, and patient.
Brian composes himself. No sedative, not for him. He wears his usual clothes - he'll protect them afterwards, when he's going about the killing proper. Because tonight he will. Tonight...
Titus. Almost too easy.
He welcomes it, though. This time, he welcomes it.
At the appointed hour, he will be waiting in a chair, head back as though he is resting, a stack of books beside him. The room is quiet. No one should come. He can always tell them that his friend is drunk. It's worked before.
People don't want to know more than they have to.
In fact, he's just thinking about death. Not his own, this time. Not his mother's. The kind of death that'll give him peace.
