YES I MEANT TO DO THAT. I originally had the pictures flipped, and I was figuring stuff out and everything, and put them like that and it just clicked. Of course it's supposed to look like that, that's the whole mix in a nutshell.
I am so happy the divide getting greater thing worked out. Because I wanted the first two songs to feel very similar, the missing and wanting to fix it and both of them being like "wtf this friendship thing is ridiculous and awful," and then slowly just get so...lack of communication-y and shitty. I'm glad it worked!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SAYING THAT. That is one of the most important things when mixing for me, making sure I listen to it back and it FEELS like what I want it to feel like, more than just the words. I wanted this to feel sad and maybe angry at points, like quiet frustration and longing, and I really hope I achieved any of that.
Ugh, I'm glad you like that part, because that was one of my favorite parts at the time, just so perfect. Full of regret, and she's like "I wish I didn't do that, I wish I didn't pick Liam," and he's still not over that, he's interpreting her actions totally differently than how they're meant and it's so...unpleasant.
