Den was here from Canberra over the weekend and Saturday, we saw each other. =) Had tons of catching up to do!
We were set to meet at Central Station at around 12 and was booked for lunch with her friend, Andrew by the Darling Harbour. We were both running late and nakakatawa pa cos when I got off the train, she was going to meet me at the main foyer of the station daw. But when I got out, walang main foyer! I was out sa street na agad! So Den was like, do you see a really big building? With a big clock? Na bricks? Na...uh...parang sa Harry Potter? Hahaha! After 15 minutes, I found out that I was way far from the main building na pala!
This was what she was talking about:
So finally we saw each other na and took a cab to Darling Harbour where her friend, Andrew had been waiting for an hour na by then. We had lunch at Wagamama. It was nice.
Then the three of us walked to Pitt Street to shop. The place was packed! =D I was mainly hoping to score some black pants and black closed shoes for work. I want something I can run around with the kids with. Den, the shoe-whore that she is, got this amazing buy of turqouise-coloured open toe heels for only $44! Not bad ha!
She and I went to the MAC counter and practically pushed me to ask about working there. She's so decided and wants me to really pursue a career with being a professional make-up artist. I was so hiya to ask cos what if the manager says I'm not good enough or something? I don't want to be let down on the one thing I would love to be doing with my whole heart! But anyway, I did ask and he said I would have to do some courses in professional make-up and then I could submit a CV. He gave me an Australian-based make-up school called Cameron Jane. I checked it out and it would cost me $8,000 to do the full course! Wow! I REALLY want but I guess I'll do it when I have the means to na.
Then we met up with her Dutch friend, Joris and we all had coffee. Nakakatawa si Andrew, he was like to me, "what's his name? Ross?" I go, "hinde. Joris." "Ano? Yours?" Nye.
Afterwards we went to this huge bookstore called Kinokuniya. I dunno ha but it's always been my dream since I was a kid to work in a bookstore. There's something very, very appealing to me about being surrounded by hundreds and hundreds of books. There's just sooo much information to be read and knowledge to be learned. When I was in grade school, my close friends and I volunteered to be library assistants and I always read these Encyclopedia Brown novels...he's my idol! But anyway, I digress. So yun nga since I've always wanted to work in a bookstore, I decided that I will apply work there. Hey it's extra cash plus I'd be fulfilling one of my dreams. When I find out na my sked for work at the preschool, I think I could manage working after school hours on Thursdays (since shops are open till 9pm) and the whole day on one weekend...about 15-20 hours/week. That's not too bad diba?
Then after Andrew and Joris left na, we went around some more and just when I thought my shopping trip would render vain, we found this hip store for girls and found some stuff I could wear for work! Even Den couldn't resist buying some skirts! =) So all in all it was a really good day at the city.
Oh! I bought a Bloc Party cd for only $10! It's brand new and everything in the store is only $10!!! Mas mura pa than sa Pinas! Factory price daw yun. I shoulda bought more. I was eyeing this Beatles No. 1's album and John Mayer's Heavier Things and The Vines. Pero na-realize ko, I'd go broke so I bought one lang. hehe. Buti naman hindi sya weird-sounding or anything!
Then we headed off to her tita's house in Castle Hill and had dinner then did a pseudo-make up lesson for her tita. Anobaaa I sounded like a friggin' tutorial book! Even her tita was convinced I should do it. We'll see...
Sunday, had bbq at one of Tita Ida's cousins, Tita Connie. She's married to an Australian and they have a super cute kid named KC. They have the most amazing view on their backyard! Preserved bushlands!
But the best part of it were the birds that are nesting on these bushlands! Gorgeous Rainbow Lorikeets and Crimson Rosellas and others.
I had been stalking the poor birds the whole afternoon! Hahaha! They are soooo lovely! I can't believe that they're just out there flying around free! I wanna take one home!!! They won't feed on my palm! ='( I felt so at peace while watching the birds. Parang I wanna join an environmental group like WWF.
Super steady at their house and after eating we had Pavlova for dessert while I warmed myself by the faux fireplace.
Went to church after then home. So tired! Will go again to the city tomorrow.
